What a great beautiful airport landscape. It will definitely be added to my FS2020 environment. I saw the trailer at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cJfJufjd0Tg. To be honest I got goosebumps at the images with the music by Bettye Lavette - Let me down easy. Searched for an mp3 but could only find the original and not this fantastic remix. Is this available somewhere? Would be awesome...

Also saw the excellent trailer, I'm hoping that a little more detail goes in like the road textures and pavements between the terminals and the stands, and that the VDGS post locations are moved a little to more accurate locations.

Was so excited to get this but the conversation rate from GBP to AUD is shocking at the moment so will have wait and hope the Dollar here improves because nearly $36 for 1 airport is a lot. Obviously no blame on the product or Devs just bad timing for the Dollar i guess.

These were cross-checked and tested by those who work on the field daily.. any specific stands not in the right location.

Just downloaded this and flew into the airport, taxied around and the sim crashed, first crash I have had for months.

We have spent many hundreds of hours across 20 testers and consequent systems and have not had a report of a crash. Any specific aircraft / repeatable actions to conclude Heathrow was the culprit?

Hello,

As a regular IniBuilds customer, I am a little disappointed to see that IniBuilds have decided to bloat our computers with this "Manager", just another 574MB of software that is totally unncessary!   However, I have installed it and after huge problems trying to log into the Manager, I finally did it and installed Heathrow.

I have backed up the scenery and uninstalled the IniBuilds Manager.   Very sorry but that's how I feel.   The Manager is unnecessary.   Along with Aerosoft One, Contrails and now this, the bloatware is increasing and it is not good!

***************

To the scenery;   I'm a little surprised to see no Manual or ReadMe file!   I also hear that the default ASOBO Heathrow must be deactivated - is this true?

I did ask for a copy of the product for review, but I have received no response, so I decided to buy it - and as a former 27-year career employee of Heathrow, I will be reviewing it on my channel in due course.

I do however, commend IniBuilds for taking on this airport project, perhaps one of the most difficult airports to recreate.   There has been a history of developers declining to do Heathrow - only UK2000Scenery and Garry Summons has attempted it and done quite a good job in FSX and in P3D.    Now we have this extensive and world renouned airport in MSFS - and I'm looking forward to examing it in detail.   I am encouraged as I see that even the Royal VIP Suite is modelled!  😀

Thank you for attempting this project.

Can you please just confirm as to whether the Asobo LHR must be deactivated or not?

Kind regards,

Lee

Hello @BAW9DV,

Thank you for voicing your concerns.

The iniManager is in response to the majority of our customer base requesting an easy update/download solution to make the process easier and streamlined when managing iniBuilds Store purchases which are many gigabytes in size. We believe this is a great step forward in solidifying the future download infrastructure and maintaining the excellent customer experience we are striving to provide.

We'd love to make this constructive as the iniManager isn't going to go with the overwhelmingly positive feedback we have received so far, please feel free to get in touch with direct support of any suggestions you may have for iniManager or how we can help with issues you've encountered.

As for your concerns with Heathrow, the Premium Deluxe Heathrow only needs to be deactivated if it's causing conflicts, generally it won't as our scenery will get layered above it.

A manual for this release would be futile as we wouldn't have anything to include in it since the installation is streamlined via the iniManager.

Looking forward to your review.

Cheers.

@AndyM.

That's the further right side. Towards the left there are single VDGS poles with the stand identifiers.

Please see the attached image as evidence.

Cheers.

You can see further towards the right side this changes as in your photo which we've done accurately.

Ah, okay, didn't see them on the Youtube videos, but they do look a little too far away from the Terminal.

Max,

Thank you for your kind reply.

Thanks for the explanation.   However, you could just as easy have created an Installer that would have placed the product in the correct location.   Many developers do this and it works well.   To add another 600MB or so of software just to install this is, in my opinion, really is taking advantage of people's systems unnecessarily.   With respect, the "future download structure" is always the excuse used by many organisations to justify loading their software onto systems without it being necessary.   But that is my opinion.   I have removed the Manager from my computer.

I was surprised to find that I do actually HAVE to install this Manager in order to install the scenery - perhaps you might consider those customers who do NOT want this software and would prefer a normal install routine?   Now that WOULD be good customer service!   As for the Manager, it refused to accept my log in password even though it was correct (I keep and encryted file with my passwords in) - so I had to request a password reset in order to change the password and only then would the software let me into my purchase.   By contrast, the install was quick and pretty flawless and that's great.   I did kind of expect a pop up saying that the install had been completed - but it never happened and I had to guess when the install had actually finished, since my drive was still  being accessed after the 100% point had been reached.   But it is installed and it works fine and I'm happy.

Yes, the Premium Deluxe version of MSFS DOES need to be deactivated as there are occasional double objects appearing and the scenery runs a lot slower because of the default Asobo Heathrow being loaded (and into memory) underneath it.   I have an i9-9900K CPU with 32GB of Ram and a GeForce RTX 2080Ti 11GB graphics card and there is noticable stuttering and pausing when using the drone camera to look around - this even after defragging the drive.   However, it is my first day and my first look so we'll see.   Visually it looks wonderful.

>>A manual for this release would be futile as we wouldn't have anything to include in it since the installation is streamlined via the iniManager.<<

Really?   A bit of detail about the scenery would be useful for those non-UK customers who are being presented with the airport for the first time!   Details such as the Runway Alternation programme in use there?   And the requirement not to use 09L for takeoffs due to the Cranford Agreement?    If I remember correctly that agreement has now lapsed but the Airport Authority almost never uses 09L for departures as a courtesy to local residents.    Some history would have been good for a polished product.  And no written credits for your developers?  I hope they are not annoyed!   There is much that could have gone into even a short PDF document.   Just my opinion however . . .

So, since it has been some time since I retired from over 27 years service at Heathrow, today I took a drive up to the airport and spent around 2 hours looking around the airport and it's perimeter and the Cargo area, as well as the north side, hotels and the Rental Car offices - many places that I used to patrol at length on those wonderful night shifts!   I was able to meet a few people who I know who still work there too and it was a kind of memory lane thing for me, looking at the various control posts I used to be in charge of.   Nice to see you have included many of them in thre scenery, which was a nice surprise.   And to see how much the place has changed since I left.

It's a great product and I mean that.   I guess I was really annoyed that I had to use a "Manager" do what could have been a simple install.   But I'm over it now.

Tomorrow, Friday 25th FEB, will be when I take an in-depth look at the airport - and the video will be out on Saturday around non UK time at the latest.

My thanks on behalf of all of us Simmers, for taking on this project.

Kind regards,

Lee

Hello,

EGLL looks fine, but night version has no lights inside the terminals... Is that OK and intended ?

many thanks

JM

and according to photo pictures from EGLL there are normally lots of red lights on buildings (night views) but there are very few in this scenery.

Feedback re T5 night lighting is noted and being tweaked - will be in the next update.

Excellent news that you are tweaking the airport, can I make a simple suggestion please, change the colour of the road tunnel access walls, they look a bit dark.
