Visual flaws

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

unfortunately I'm quite underwhelmed with the visual quality of the A380. It looks shiny from far away, but a closer look reveals a lot of flaws, sloppy work and lack of quality control.

Here's a list of what I've encountered so far:

  1. Slats clip heavily into the engine pylons.

gvKr7ve.jpeg

yEbWiKd.jpeg

  1. Engine pylons are not flush with the wing

NQG8kQp.jpeg

  1. Spoiler actuatory clip into flaps when extended during Flaps 0

    cEwc5n9.jpeg

  2. There's a gap between the two MCP panels on both the Captain's and FO's side

    AVddpI3.jpeg

  1. Main gear bay doors are heavily bugged in their animation logic, remaining partly open in flight

    SvUH1vv.jpeg

7. On the both RR and EA engines, the blades in the rear of what I believe is the N2 stage are constantly moving very slowly. If they are intended to be static, why would they move? If they are intended to be animated, they don't move relative to their engine parameters.

  1. Strobes and beacon are not in sync. Both do a free run and overlap with different timings, which is very atypical for Airbus aircraft and not something I've ever seen on an A380.

I understand this is a very complex aircraft and things can be missed, but there's definitely a lack of QA when obvious issues with slats and gear doors are missed.

While based on your track record I don't expect a lot to be fixed, can at least the obvious items be taken care of before you head over to your next project please?

Thank you.

Yeah, I also noticed the strobes and beacon being in sync when its not like that irl clearly. And wow, that modeling is a little shocking lol.

For me, I found this particular light leak between the panel and the glareshield. this is happening anytime whenever we are facing the sun around 12:00 to 14:30LTScreenshot 2026-09-16 155250.pngScreenshot 2026-09-16 151845.png

See the red box and red circle for the condition.

Guys, this is not acceptable for a product of 82 Euros

happend after a jump ahead

What I also figured:

Sometimes at the gate, the plane suddenly begins to bounce (extreme wingflex also). It bounces so hard out of nowhere, that it actually relocated itself away from the gate...
This also leads to significant FPS drops, especially after a flight at the arrival gate (but I don't know if those two things are dependent on each other

I have not seen or heard of anyone else having this issue. If you're able to grab a screenshot or short video demonstrating this, I will pass it along to the team for review.

Thanks!

I have also encountered this issue, extreme non-sensical wing flexing particularly during pushback, engine start and taxiing. FPS drops also occurred during this time. Another issue is when changing from cockpit view to external view, the tail if the aircraft is missing for a few seconds then loads. Switching from inside to outside view also dramatically lowers FPS to the point that I can only taxi using cockpit view as changing to the external view would cause freezes and stutters. Hi,

The tail missing is by design when performance mode is enabled, as it is removing LOD's.

Thanks!

Hi everyone,

another few:

  1. Hinges of both AC hose doors clipping into fuselage

    iBTcfxF.jpeg

  2. Bulk cargo door piston not properly animated. Piston clipping through cylinder and not connected to door

    GQuzfuB.jpeg

  3. Bulk cargo door locking bold floating and entire fuselage edge not flush with the interior

    EfCtwAb.jpeg

  4. Rear cargo door entire fuselage edge not flush with the interior

    eKuZHlU.jpeg

Props to Kyle at this point, you're doing a great job! ☺️

Cheers!

Hey, found some more panel gaps. If these pictures arent adequate let me know, its on both sides of the pilots at their knee level.

Hi Ini Team,

I've come across a few strange things, the labels on the lights on the right wing are reversed, and the parts around the lights on the left wing have a different dark texture without markings, which differs from the right wing

Ive also noticed a few of these imperfections too and reported them, i would like to say however as a graphic artist and 3D modeller myself, INI have done an amazing job on the aircraft overall. Yes there is a little lacking on some of the quality control here but the standard of the graphics modelling animations and generally accuracy of the geometry is outstanding and puts a few other top devs to shame!. I think ini are taking these quality issue seriously now the fact that they have decided to completely remodel the geometry flaws in the A350(no small task) tells me they take this feedback seriously and want the best product they can deliver.

So i hope they will address yours and my graphical feedback. If we put the number flaws in to perspective vs what they have got right then its a tiny fraction really. lets try not bash a company thet is still upcoming and pushing the boundaries of fs to new limits, we are all benefitting from that innovation and should also credit them for what they have achieved in just a few short years, where some other competitors who have been around far longer arent even close!

Don't get me wrong on that - I'm not criticising anyone's work. I'm just a little cautious after the A340, which still has several confirmed and logged visual inconsistencies since its release. Most of these would take 10–30 minutes to fix, and yet here we are, almost exactly one year later, with no changes.

iniBuilds' art team has skills that are far superior to those of most competitors — there's no doubt about that. It's just their tendency to quickly move on to other projects and their extremely slow response to easy fixes that makes me wary.

The high visual fidelity of their planes simply deserves perfection in every corner. That's why I'm taking the time to write reports on my findings. I certainly wouldn't waste my time if I thought it wasn't worthwhile. Kyle already does a great job of keeping everything logged, that's an important first step and already much better than on previous releases. That's why I'm staying positive. 🤞

Yep agreed, at this level its a real shame to let a few graphical oversights spoil the hard work and exquisite detail they have achieved overall so yes its important to report these things, ive been doing just that for years with many developers, and its not always well received, but these guys seem very open to constructive criticism however, which is certainly encouraging.
