The "neutral" or middle position if the OFF position. After the gear is raised (top or UP position), the lever is moved to the middle position to depressurize the hydraulics used to raise the gear to reduce strain/wear on the actuators and prevent accident deployment. Generally the lever is moved to the OFF position after the gear has been raised and the lights are off.

Are you using an external program to map your controls, like Axis and Ohs, or Spad.Next? If so (and you have a 2 position gear lever on your controller), you can configure the lever to move to the UP position, followed by a short wait period before moving to the OFF position.

If you are binding a 2 position gear lever in MSFS (as MSFS doesn't have built-in bindings for a 3 position gear level), you will probably have to live with the animation "glitch". Or, you can interact with the gear lever directly in the virtual cockpit.

Yes, I understand all that. My gear lever is a 3-position type, and what's happening is that when I move it to the Gear Up position (with AAO, yes), the gear retracts, but the animation of the lever only goes to the neutral position. I wasn't seeing this before the last update, so it makes me wonder if there is a bug here.

  2. When retracting the landing gear during takeoff, the gear retracts, but it looks like the lever is physically not moving from the down position to the up position - it just moves to the neutral position, even though the gear is retracted.

This is with a Virpil control panel landing gear lever.

You wouldn't change the wheels when they are only "yellow" in the real world.

But more likely then not it is down to the specific airline anyways and you wont really find a setting that pleases everyone 😅

From what I have read and have seen in my experience, the tire wear rate is exaggerated right now. After about 10(!) landings my tires were already in the red zone, and it's not as if I'd had any hard landings in that process. Perhaps with "normal" usage the tires should be in the green up to about 33 landings, yellow after 66, and red after 100?

  4. As the subject heading says: when attempting to park at the NE parking area, all 4 positions are marked as "too small" for the A300.

Beyond that, there are a lot of other places at the airport marked as too small by GSX that probably can fit the A300 just fine.

Related to the first issue - when unloading cargo at NE parking, the unloading process gets stuck at 67%.

  5. @Nico - Gumby, I take that back - I am trying an approach into KMEM right now, and the damn plane won't descend properly to the approach and is now climbing instead of descending. Something is seriously screwed up - no matter if try level change, vertical speed, etc, it's stuck in a climb.

  6. It has been my experience during my last few flights to and from KLAX and KPHX that certain numeric readouts on the bottom left-hand corner of the PFD will flash on and off during the final approach phase, as if they are fighting to be visible at the same time. This always happens after capturing the ILS and engaging LAND mode.

Holy Crap!  I haven't tried it in a while.  This works.  I have not tried to hold the individual engines, just both.  Sweet.  I have V4-10 b57 i think.  Give it a whirl.  Notice I added a key up with a 0 in it to make sure it comes out of reverse.  Seems to work.  I am going to go change all my aircraft now!  Sweet, God knows I love a blank in sim profile!.

Thanks, will give that a try. 👍

Upon further review, and I had long ago forgotten about this, I actually have that mapped in the sim.  AAO has a problem with that command.  I thought it was fixed by now but apparently not.  It had been so long ago, I forgot about this.  I will get a hold of Loriby and see what the progress is on this.  In the mean time, map it as above.

Got it, thanks. 👍 Yes, I've used it as mapped in the sim and found it to work flawlessly.

Looks like this on the in sim bindings assuming you don't use AAO or Spadnext. There is no provision for engine 1 or 2.  It holds all reversers.

Speaking of which, I tried to map the "hold reverse thrust" in AAO last night but I could not get it to work - it would only work by pressing and releasing the button on my controller (I tried the two reverse thrust commands but ended up with the same result). Is there something I'm mapping incorrectly here?
