On my RTX 4080 with 16 GB VRAM I run out of VRAM when I pan the camera towards the flight engineer deck.

This happens on both busy airports on the ground and in small default airports.

Is there a plan to include a variant with lower texture resolution or without the cabin perhaps?

I believe this will improve performance for those of us who can't afford a 24 or 32 GB video card and still want to enjoy the plane on high graphics settings 🙂

Somehow, this is the only 3rd party add-on airplane that eats so much VRAM on my current graphics configuration and usual airports I fly to and from.

Hi, in my testing on a 5080 VRAM usage at detailed sceneries was around 12-13gb. What are you seeing on your system?

AMD 7800x3d - 64gb RAM - nVidia RTX 5080

12-13 GB is also too much for people with 12GB cards.

I even use AutoFPS to tweak my TLOD and OLOD during flight.

I have no problems with other Addon Aicraft, like PMDG, FSLabs; Toliss, TFDi or the 3 Inibuild Airbusses (A300, A340 and A350)

So please if You use 8K textures, make a Lite version with 4K.

I have to agree with these posts. This is by far the worst performing plane in the sim for me due to the VRAM usage. I had 7 fps on landing rollout at ORBX ESSA in the Tristar. With all other aircraft in the sim I'd have at least 30. This is on a 3060 Ti with 8GB VRAM and all settings on low or medium

Here are some screenshots from my tests today at EKCH Copenhagen airport (default)
I run a mix of High and Ultra settings on RTX 4080 Super 16GB
Texture settings are set on High

As previously mentioned, other 3rd party addons don't ask for so much VRAM.
A300-600R Premium for example doesn't make my VRAM go into the red and it has glass cockpit instruments.

Thanks for your reports.

For the upcoming v1.0.1 update, we’ve made several adjustments to textures aimed at improving overall FPS. Once the update is available on the Marketplace (expected around next week), we’d really appreciate it if you could try it out and let us know how it performs on your end.

Can you confirm this was actually included in the 1.0.1 update? Because I don't see any mention of it in the changelog and the performance for me continues just as bad as with version 1.0.0.

Very interesting. My rig (arriving tomorrow) will be very similar to yours. Ryzen 7 9800X3D, 64, 5080 ...

Are you running ultra / high settings with AutoFPS and textures on? - high or ultra?

4K Display?

Thanks a lot, warm regards,

Claas

The problem still persists in v1.0.1 and in the changelog there's no mention about lite version or VRAM fix.

Yes the fix is already in v1.0.1, with further changes made for v1.0.2 as well which is expected this week. Will be included in changelog too.

Please let us know how you fair.

Hi team! 👋

I've tested on Xbox Series X since v1.0.2 has been released and from initial impressions I've found that performance in cockpit has degraded quite a bit compared to v1.0.1. I was getting quite low / laggy frames which I wasn't even experiencing in the release version.

I've not been able to test on PC yet with the latest update though.

Has anyone else been experiencing this?

Thanks for the other improvements in the latest release though - certainly a step in the right direction with Autopilot etc 👏

I do feel that the 1.0.2 is much more laggy than 1.0.1 actually..

Flew a 8hrs trip today.. And very stuttery upon landing.. Very!

Not like that at all with 1.0.1 on longer trips..

Hope to see it sorted out..

Interesting, internal testing reports are exact opposite but appreciate it. We also have further optimisations coming in v1.0.3 (potentially next week). Please check again and let us know.

With regards to degraded perf/stuttering, let us know if theres any specific conditions where you particularly notice it. Or any actions taken that trigger it.

Thanks!

I can confirm this! Finally had a chance to test the update…feels switching views has way more stuttering. Is there any chance of seeing low res interior textures for this bird?

Liveries also affect performance. First-party liveries are mostly decal-based, which use VRAM more efficiently by scaling with camera distance. Texture-based liveries, common in community creations, are often high resolution (4K or 8K) to preserve detail up close, which increases VRAM usage. While ours are optimized, community liveries may not be, and that could impact performance.

What we're doing
We’ve reached a point where further optimisation could mean reduction in visual quality or require removing features (example no-cabin variant). We’re continuing to review incoming reports and are carefully evaluating all options for future updates. So we please ask to include in your reports also the sim settings, along with your specs and the in-sim fps counters.

Interim Recommendations
If you are suffering from VRAM overruns frequently, try the folllowing settings
- Set Texture Resolution to Medium
- Adjust Object and Terrain LOD as needed (120 is a good baseline to begin with to then adjust as headroom allows)
- Disable Raytraced Shadows
- Lower Volumetric Clouds (avoid Ultra in heavy weather)
- Keep resolution at 1440p or below on 8GB VRAM systems

Please give us one variant without a cabin or with lower texture quality. That would be the best solution for all. 🙏

For me on an RTX 4080 Super with 16 GB, the trigger is when I pan the camera towards the flight engineer deck, but ONLY on the ground on a detailed airport.
