When I take off in MCT/Flex the thrust percentage is often 70-75% but when I put it in Climb detent it increases to 95-97 percent. Is this normal?

And if it's OK for the engines to run at 97 percent for long periods, why derate so much for take off which is crucial?

The TO perf is from the OIS, the laptop on the left of the captains PFD in the Inibuilds A380. Also seems to take a LOT of runway for takeoff.

Yes, it is entirely possible and normal for the A380’s FLX N1 setting to be lower than its Climb N1 setting.

The primary reasons for this distinct performance trait is how Airbus calculates assumed temperatures, how the FADEC treats the air density changes during climbout, and the physics of 4-engine aircraft design.

1. (426) A380 TAKEOFF MIAMI 4K - YouTube - You can see it on 1:49 that the CLB power doesn increase to MaxClimb

2. Fantastic Cockpit Views AIRBUS A380 Takeoff | 8 Cameras - In 8:58 when Transitioning to CLB Power, it stays on DCLB3 which is 74%

3. PARIS | A380 TAKEOFF 4K - At 4:49 also doesn't increase to Max Climb Thrust

4. ETIHAD AIRBUS A380 Takeoff Abu Dhabi | Flight Deck GoPro View - Check 13:43, also not climb with MaxClimb

5. A380 Flight Deck to Singapore with Etihad! - On 5:37 also have DCLB3 which NOT on Max Climb Thrust

I don't know which one is correct, but can you ask them again about this? Because it is clearly they aren't doing Max Climb Thrust directly after takeoff FLEX Power.

Well for one on that second video DCLB3 is over 83 percent no where near 74% that you stated normal climb would have been upwards of 90%
