April 15Apr 15 Having tested the latest versin 1.02, with the plane spawned on the runway in ready for t/o config, I still see the AP struggling with the vertical modes. IAS hold seems to work, but as soon as I change to VS or ALT hold, the wobble starts. Also, when in VS mode and retracting the flaps, the nose pitches down and the plane starts a temporary decent. Please fix the AP asap, as this current state makes the Tristar unflyable for me and I guess many others, too. Best regards, Wolfgang
April 16Apr 16 Updated this am and have done two flights. IAS mode in climb seems to sometimes work, sometimes not. Random. VS mode is most reliable in clijmb and descent, and honestly the only reliable way to fly the aircraft IFR. Had zero luck with autothrottles but investigating whether or not it was user error. IAS mode should work though. Not reliable right now. Navigation using Civ-a worked pretty well except when adding a 10th and 11th waypoint mid flight. Probably user error but sequencing was fine. . Really wanting to love this plane but might be going back in the hangar for a bit until a couple more updates come out.
April 16Apr 16 The problem I've had with IAS and MACH modes so far is that the autopilot doesn't change the stabilizer trim quickly enough in those modes, so the aircraft can't hold a speed or Mach reliably. There was a similar issue with VNAV mode when the plane first released, but that's since been mostly fixed. Apart from that and a couple of other known issues, the other vertical modes, such as ALT capture, are working decently now on my end. Edited April 16Apr 16 by zbrainlezz
April 20Apr 20 Have the same issue when using vnav or ias. Aircraft climbs steep then adjusts and almost descents then climbs dramatically again all the way to cruise. Vs is stable. Auto throttle works fine and steady in epr mode.
April 20Apr 20 Staff Hi all Thanks for your report and feedback. The upcoming v1.0.3 update (expected this week) includes further refinements to this logic. We’d really appreciate your continued feedback on these changes so we can keep improving and fine-tuning. April 22Apr 22 Author Just did a short hop from LPMA to LPPT on a very low weight L1011. AP vertical modes are better now, but it still struggles when in vertical mode and retracting/extending flaps. Lateral guidance also better, but it still overshoots commanded track in GPS/VOR or ILS mode. Cheers, Wolfgang
