Wise87 Posted Sunday at 07:03 PM Posted Sunday at 07:03 PM (edited) iniBuilds, I noticed by several of the streams that the flightdeck glass has a heavy tint applied making the outside view darker them normal. The passengers windows do not have this heavy tint when looking out them. Will there be a way to lighten the tint or an update so the flightdeck is not so dark. I looked at other MSFS aircraft and the L-1011 is the darkest of all. I have included a few pictures that show no tint, tint line as you pass through the glass and the inside tint view. Please consider lighting them up some. Example in this link from Kenco's flight. Thank you and I can't wait to purchase the aircraft. Edited Sunday at 08:00 PM by Wise87 2
richboy2307 Posted Tuesday at 07:56 PM Posted Tuesday at 07:56 PM Now that the TriStar is available, please try it in your sims and let us know what you think. The windows are rather well tinted per the references we have, but we'll await further feedback from you. Thanks! The darkness is especially noticeable over at the FE’s panel in the daytime. One almost always needs the instrument panel lights on. I know, MSFS ambient lighting has always been a struggle, but these dark windows seem to make the effect worse inside. 1 Robert Schumacher
Mets747 Posted Wednesday at 06:00 AM Posted Wednesday at 06:00 AM I definitely think it needs to be toned down a bit or an option to disable tint completely. 2

I think the OP and the others (incl. myself) meant the tint effect when you look through the windows at the outside world is too strong. I do not think that the tinted windows have any effect on the brightness within the cockpit.

Yes, an option to enable or disable the tint effect would be nice. What I especially do not like is the blue hue the tint adds to the outside world, although this might have been realistic for the Tristar. Apart from that I like the Tristar very much. I think it is a great product from what I have seen from my little flying so far. Thank you iniuilds! Edited Wednesday at 11:32 AM by wolfko 1
Wise87 Posted Wednesday at 01:48 PM Author Posted Wednesday at 01:48 PM I've completed 2 flights now in the L-1011 and I find the tint still needs to be toned down.
Solution richboy2307 Posted 6 hours ago Solution Posted 6 hours ago For the upcoming v1.0.1 update, we’ve made adjustments to the tint. Once the update is available on the Marketplace (expected around next week), we’d really appreciate it if you could try it out and let us know how it fairs. Correct, the simulator doesn’t factor that in when determining interior brightness. The noticeable contrast between the interior and exterior is mainly due to how the sim currently handles eye adaptation, which is still a balancing limitation. The main workaround would be to brighten the cockpit textures, but that introduces much greater inaccuracies in the overall colors, so it’s a difficult trade-off. Thanks!
