LukeFF Posted December 23, 2024 Posted December 23, 2024 Flew tonight in the PW freighter, Leipzig to Luton (ini version). Flight started out just fine, no issues, FPS hovering about 60, TLOD 100. However, flying at FL340, the frame rates dropped, and dropped, and dropped so much that by the time we were on final approach to Luton we were down to 12(!!!) FPS. No point any more at that point to continue the flight, even with an autolanding, because once we landed I had no way to control where the plane was going. The only thing I can think of that would have contributed to the terrible FPS drop was opening and closing the default EFB, but other than that, nothing out of the ordinary.
richboy2307 Posted December 24, 2024 Posted December 24, 2024 Hi, Hmm thanks. Let us know if you're having this issue on another flight as well. Do record your in-sim FPS window in the instances where you're experiencing issues. For context,I did 3 flights back to back in the FS24 Premium A306 (PW Freighter DHL D-AEAF), on EBBR-EGGW-EDDF-EGLL without any notable performance degradation over time. FPS did drop around EGLL particularly due to the Photogrammetry I reckon but can safely rule it out as an external factor affecting performance. Addons Used: - Scenery: ini EGGW, JustSim EBBR, Asobo EDDF/EGLL - Vatsim: Vpilot & FSLTL Model matching - Misc: FSUIPC 7 (v7.5.0), SPAD.Next Specs: AMD 5800x3D, RTX 3090, 32GB RAM I used the default EFB for referencing LIDO charts on the EGGW-EDDF leg, as well as TERR and WXR used throughout the flights. So we will need more info as this has not been observed internally, nor reported by any other testers on rigs of varying hardware capabilities. Thanks! LukeFF Posted December 27, 2024 Author Posted December 27, 2024 Yes, my system specs are: 9800X3D 64 GB RAM 4070 Ti Super EDDP scenery was Digital Design, not the default one. The only other London-area scenery I have enabled right now is the ini Stanstead one. EGLL AFAIK is the autogen one, not the one included by Asobo for the more expensive bundles. I will give this flight another try this weekend and see if the issue reproduces.
LukeFF Posted December 28, 2024 Author Posted December 28, 2024 (edited) Alright, this is what I got, @richboy2307. FPS were again pretty good en route, started dropping into the 30s in the Brussels area but remained relatively steady. It was when we started dropping into the 20s and then once again into the teens - all the way down to 12 - when we started our approach into Luton (screenshot attached). I attempted to remedy this by dropping my graphics detail down to the Medium preset, but that did very little. There's just something really bad about the terrain rendering in this part of the globe, because, again, I'm just running the autogen EGLL airport - not the ini EGLL one or the Asobo handcrafted one - and the only other 3rd party scenery I have enabled in this area is ini Stanstead. The handcrafted one from Asobo is turned off. Edited December 28, 2024 by LukeFF
richboy2307 Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 Hi @LukeFF Thanks for the info but as mentioned in the first post, please record your in-sim FPS window in full, perhaps take screenshots at the various stages of flight and share here. The information about the fps on its own is not useful in diagnosing any potential issues. That window will provide additional data that may help in that regard. The sim FPS window is accessed via: - Settings > General > Advanced Options > Developer Mode - ON - Then on the [DevMode] bar > Options > Debug > Display FPS Thanks! Fornax Posted yesterday at 08:48 AM Posted yesterday at 08:48 AM (edited) Im also having some weird performance issues with the A300 premium (together with the IniA350) in ms2024 SU2 beta 1.4.12.0 Cleared Wasm, Nvidia cache etc. First load-in seems "fine". Fps 50-70 with 2xFramegeneration. Worst among all A/C I have. Next time I load in fps is down to 40ish (2xFG). Exactly same thing happens in A350 - although fps is slightly better (70-80 2xFG in normal load-in) 50ish when it loads in with some bottleneck. CRJ, Fenix, GAs fps 100+. 5090(572.83), 7900x3d, 64gb ram, 4k(5120x1440), hdr. No idea why this happens. Seems to bottleneck for some reason after multiple load-ins. Also the A300+A350, when the bottleneck occurs, seem to have very low GPU+CPU usage - 20% on both. Much higher in other A/C,. Uninstall/reinstall + clear Wasm seem to fix the problem for first load-ins. Will test some more... Edited yesterday at 05:14 PM by Fornax
Fornax Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago (edited) A300 Premium, MS2024, manipulators going wild: 1. A300 no FrameGen(FG) 2. A300 2xFG 3. Fenix 2x FG Edited 18 hours ago by Fornax
Fornax Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago (edited) Then just exiting/quitting MS2024, load MS2024 anew, reloading at same position, and A300 is suddenly ok. 2xFG, manipulators much better: Edited 17 hours ago by Fornax
Fornax Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Then, in same session (not quitting msfs), select a different AC, load in with different AC, bavk to meny, select A300 again: manipulators going crazy and fps almost halved 80 to 49:
AlexEDLE Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Thank you, Fornax, for your detailed comparison. I hope we're finally past the "it could be your PC, send us this and that" advice from support. But I'm sure they're working on the A300 in the background. Hopefully.
Fornax Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago (edited) Yeah, but not sure why this happens. Could be my system, SU2 beta, SU2 beta telemetry thing, iniAircraft(Wasm heavy), NVidia drivers (new ones for 50xx cards still not the best) etc. At least they have some info. Would be nice to hear if anyone experience the same. I'll check if the same happens in SU1 (non-beta). Edited 5 hours ago by Fornax
