S4nt0ss Posted January 6 Posted January 6 (edited) Hello, In the last days I've experienced dual hot starts a couple times, both in v1.0.1 and yesterday in v.1.0.2. For no apparent reason after hitting the starter the EGT goes crazy up to 800ºC and the ecam warning for EGT OVER LIMIT pops up. This is before moving the fuel lever to ON position. If startup is aborted before getting to the max allowed EGT (as per the QRH) the temps will not reset and stay around 800ºC. When the fuel gets into the engine it goes over 970ºC. Then when the engine stabilizes it goes back to green and normal temps almost instantly. Same happens when starting up the other engine. Both OAT and Bleed pressure were normal. Marcocessna84 Posted January 6 Posted January 6 Hot starts happen when fuel switch is turned over before N2 establishes the proper rotation. Pretty normal. Deleted Account Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Heya S4nt0ss, I can't replicate this, does this happen every time for you? If so could you give me exact steps to reproduce? Also give me outside conditions etc? Hotstarts ver much are modelled btw 1

Hotstarts ver much are modelled btw It has happened 3 times in the last days, out of 10 or 12 flights I've done so far, so not every time. But I will try to reproduce it again tomorrow. No specific conditions rather than a cold and dark startup. I will keep this thread updated.

Skipper Posted January 10 Posted January 10 What this plane can simulate a hot-start? Wow this is AWESOME!! The Black Square TBM and the Hotstart Challenger are the only two other planes being able to simulate one. Because I have no checklist for the A300 I don´t know when fuel is introduced into the combustion chambers so I fly it like the Fenix Airbus just a bit more retro, and wait until N2 is on 24% which seems to be the limit of the starter. Awesome I absolutely need trying to provoke a hot-start just to see what happens 🙂 is 5% N2 good for a hot-start? The APU maintenance guy is already looking forward to replace the burned out turbine fan disk!
Deleted Account Posted January 16 Posted January 16 Yep, when you give fuel instantly after engaging the starter, it'll hot start.
