Bulldog engine sound

Just purchased this little jewel and my only criticism is the engine sound.  The Bulldog had a Lycoming 4 cylinder O-360 or O-200 which had a distinctive 4-banger sound - rode behind one for twenty odd years.  Your engine sounds like at least six cylinders with a bit of a deisel thrown in.  Another thought - since your installation is a bit different, some kind of pre-advisory would be good.

Hello there. Thanks for the comments, the sounds we gathered during development of the Bulldog was a bit limited since (covid). So we couldn't get any sound samples (we're open to improvement on this if someone was able to work with us to source some).

The installation is fairly standard for most SASL planes, and instructions should be in the manual. Would be open to hearing which bits were difficult/confusing so we can improve on that.

I believe the Piper Cherokees through the early Arrow used the Lyc 4 cylinder also PA18 PA22 - later Skyhawks use it too.  If you read the manual first, the installation is simple - however, as a creature of habit, I failed the first try.

I am based at a flying club that operates a Bulldog Aircraft (G-DAWG). I could try and help you get sound samples if possible.

Hi Gordon,

Appreciate the offer and we're always open to that if that is something you still wish to help us with. We have done some work recently to the sounds using whatever samples we could get ahold of.

Bare in mind, these are w.i.p. I don't have a timeframe for v1.1 just yet. Gyazo is also heavily distorting the bass from what it actually is imo.

The last had some promise but too brief to be sure - they are very subwooferish.  The others were six cylinder sounds - too smooth.  The O-320 has a smooth sound but you can hear the action of it as it works.  If you can find a 'Youtube' of an actual Cherokee 140 or a Supercub/Tripacer/Pacer/Clipper/Family cruiser/super cruiser - they all had Lycoming four bangers.
