Your description is kinda confusing, do you mean you have a joystick axis AND rudder pedals or are you not using pedals? I have steering set to be done with rudder, and only have my pedals controlling the rudder, have not seen a steering problem.
-
Well... for starters turn off FTL, BATC, and GSX and see if it stops, then turn on each in turn. I had FTL in 2020, but have not tried it in 2024 yet. From other postings I've seen if you want to bet on which I'd say GSX. But that's your debug strategy IMHO.

Were you AFK during the flight? The AP disconnects Ive seen were due to some "incident". A good idea is set AFK in your options, what that does is if one of these issues happens the sim is immediately paused, that way if you aren't there to see it at least it stops until you are there to respond. Its very handy.

It comes very late, I think at 20 feet, but I've heard it on every landing, btw, i use the noise-canceling headphone option in the plane, maybe it gets lost in other noise it you dont have that. I love the relative quiet when using that however.
-
I agree that there seems to be a lot, but frankly, from what I can see there's a lot of problems due to inexperience, plus the new sim and its weirdness. I feel it gives an impression that things are worse than they are. Remember, this is a really big complex new plane so ya, it has lots of little problems. But I'm really happy with it even now.

Not sure what fixed it, possibly that I changed options to auto day/night, but whatever, I'm displaying High IFR right now and its working! ๐

This morning I tried a workaround... I just didn't set up the arrival, I wasn't sure if that would work, but I can confirm it does. I then did it enroute, and that did not cause the plan any problems. Of course it still means that you decide once, I haven't tried to change it again.... I'd like to complete the flight this time ๐ BTW, this plane is a long haulers dream, I have auto step, and auto compression both on, its doing 4x on the way to EHAM.
-
Just had the same problem, was enroute KATL/EHAM, I decided to tweak the VIA in the approach, but as soon as I did that... BAM, entire flight plan disappeared... Sigh, fortunately I was using time compression, and had really spent less than an hour before it happened. This is a BIG problem, I wonder what happens if you dont set arrival details at all?? The longer the flight the more chances the destination details will change ๐ I had nothing to copy so I just gave up for the evening... Please fix this Inibuilds!
-
Same behavior for me, I just dont bother with it, but it would be nice to have the Hi IFR map working. Hopefully, it can be fixed, I have Navigraph, and the terminal charts work fine.
-
AHA, I was so focused on the screen and mouse i forgot about those, that worked! Thank you so much for the quick response ๐ Jack

I'm at KATL trying to set up a flight, in departure the SID that I want to use is below what's visible in the pull down, there is a bar on the right, one would think you could click and hold with the cursor and pull it down right? But that doesn't work, maybe its my control setup, has anyone else figured this out, there must be a way... HELP!
-
Just installed a 64G upgrade and on my slightly older system (i9 12th gen, 3080) it has really helped, the cockpit at the gate no longer is like syrup. So, for any that might be wondering, it's money well spent!

Your screen shot shows you above the glidepath, perhaps that's why? I've landed KLAX and it showed GS and autolanded.
-
Personally I think it flares a bit early, at least for autoland, it does it at 50 ft, I'd wait til 40, but oh well. Did you stop looking after 60? I've so far only done autolands and all I can tell you is it always flares and always says so, maybe if you disable the autopilot you don't....

Toolbar Handle affecting steering & ailerons
jaybird replied to Trevor9's topic in General Discussion
Ya, I still don't have all the controls set, I keep toggling between a 2020 setup, but then walkaround doesn't work, but 2024 setting i really hate in the cockpit. A pox on Asobo for this hassle, lol, I've finally consigned myself to getting used to a few things being different in 2024 and just moving on. Like you, I had 2020 working first also, but now I just updated my memory to 64G and the laggy problems in the cockpit are gone, so now the real hindrance to the new sim is gone. Jack -
Of course, given the quality of ATC one might argue this is a feature ๐คฃ The transponder is controlled by the MCDU, it's another of those gotchas, top bar see rather than FMS look for SURV, there you will find what you need.
-
PMDG make Boeings, I have been their customer since FS2004 myself, so I understand. But that means you get used to how Boeings do things. This thing behaves differently, and it takes some getting used to, that's all I'm saying. It DOES work, I've completed a number of flights now, and its very cool when you get it sorted. I'm sure you will. Cheers, Jack

Toolbar Handle affecting steering & ailerons
jaybird replied to Trevor9's topic in General Discussion
Maybe I'm being dense, but what does the "toolbar handle" mean? What other controllers do you have? I don't have anything fancy, just a logitech joystick and old Saitek rudder pedals, but its adequate. This is the video that really helped me sort my setup out, I recommend it: -
BTW, this is documented in the manual... some say this isn't a "study" aircraft but all these misguided bugs mean you obviously need to RTFM, is that study?? ๐
-
It's not a Boeing ๐ Set lower altitude and then get a down arrow below the knob and left click the mouse.... that gives it an FMS controlled descent.
-
You are posting this in the 2024 tree ๐ Second, it tells you how to validate your Navigraph account, you need to do it for each sim.
-
I saw this as well, I had the FMS on the progress page for a couple hours (not that long) and when i went back to flight plan it was gone this way. No need to copy the plan, see that up arrow symbol at the bottom, I pressed that and it came back in view, no way of knowing if this matches RW behavior or not.
-
I you set the "Destination" and "Approach" correctly in your flight plan then the frequency is set.
-
Which airport and approach, there are a few out them out there you know ๐คจ
-
Even after you taxi, if you stop briefly somewhere along the way, with the toe brakes, I've seen it get "stuck" but as suggested if you tap the brakes and apply power again it will get rolling. What if you try different gates or even different airports to see if the behavior is the same?
