As I just reported on the MSFS forums: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/some-live-weather-breaks-ys-11-engines/768337 Certain live weather causes overstress on the engines that will cause them to fail within minutes. Switching off the live weather spontaneously removes the overstress. You may have to hunt around to find the weather conditions that trigger this. I found it tonight (and the last couple of nights at LZSL). Watching the wear and tear counters on the engine you can switch off/on the overstress by switching live weather off and on. Hopefully this prompts an update to the plane.

When starting from cold and dark, after having pushed the starter button, before the Repro: With external power=ON, ship battery=OFF, place HP lever=ON, Starter Master=ON, now click the push start button until approx 1000RPM (or until the engine sequence no longer requires you to hold the button). The button now cycles in and out rapidly while playing the animation sound. It's an unfortunate bug.

Hi Was the YS-11 patched recently? I ask because it's acting very strangely. With my power/throttle at 100% I get the ordinary full RPM. But if I reduce power to 50%, the RPM shoots up to 20.000 which is way too high. What on earth happened here?

I don't suppose this was done intentionally? The ADF2 radio knob is in the on position "ADF" by default when starting cold and dark.

1. Users on the official MSFS forums are noting a fuel flow of approximately 1100 pounds per hour where it should really be 2600 pounds per hour. 2. Using the fuel trimmers seems to have no impact on engine performance. 3. It doesn’t seem possible to overboost or damage the engines due to rapid and/or rough throttle handling. The old FS2002 mode by AFG even had this feature. If you advanced the throttles too quickly you could cause the engines to shut down and feather (with the big round red feather lights lighting up for either or both sides). Possible to incorporate?

Was wondering if it was possible to bind my Honeycomb Bravo levers to the High Pressure Cock (HPC) Levers in the YS-11 If so, what binding would I use? So far, I've tried various Condition bindings in MSFS2024's control settings, along with mixture, and prop and whatever else I could think of, but nothing seems to make those levers move (except of course using the mouse in the cockpit, but I'd rather use my bravo).

Under FS2020, the EFB allows to remove the chocks, pitot and prop covers. Under FS2024, it doesn't work.

While my generators seem to be doing their job, I cannot start the alternators and all power drains away after about one hour in flight. The RED warning lights are constantly on. Clicking on the alternator switch moves it up, but it immediately springs back. DISREGARD THIS TRANSMISSION - OUT Solved it

1. (2020 model) The flaps toggle switch doesn't move, using either the keyboard, or a peripheral using the sim assignments. The physical flaps and gauge move properly. 2. Also in every photo I've looked at so far, the flap toggle switch is shaped more traditionally, with the "flat tab" cover over the shaft of the toggle switch. Perhaps you are referencing a prototype or something?

On the altimeter, the hundreds drum number rotates appropriately slowly or rapidly based on the altitude of the aircraft, but it seems like the thousands drum ticks over and won't rotate to approach the next digit. (I haven't taken it above 10,000 yet so I don't know if the first digit drum does the same) Example, I can be slowly climbing from 8000 feet to 9000 feet, and at 8900 feet the 8 digit will still be fully visible, and will only tick over to 9 in a flash once actually hitting 9000. Consequently, if I am flying let's say at 8999 feet, the altimeter will show 8000 feet just because the thousands digit hasn't ticked over.

According to the manual, at 10,000 ft with 14,200 RPM, the fuel flow should be 2700 lbs/hr. However, I am seeing only 550 lbs/hr per engine (so 1100 lbs/hr in total). See picture below. Some suggest this might have to do with the units in the sim, as the expected 1350 lbs/hr per engine are appr 600 kg/hr (which is much closer to what is shown). I have created a seperate thread to allow discussion of this specific issue only.

I think the low stop red lights should remain off at low power settings while airborne. I'd encourage the dev team to review PDF pages 422-426 of the attached real-world manual for info on how the lights (and the lockout system) works. https://dn720005.ca.archive.org/0/items/piedmont-ys-11-training-guide/Piedmont YS11 Training Guide.pdf Also would help if the systems programmers could review this whole thing and see about further realism improvements.

Every picture I see of a YS-11 parked shows the props at flat pitch, yet the plane spawns with the props feathered, and when shutting down with the levers just at the fuel cutoff point (not all the way to feathered), the props spin down to a feathered position. Is this correct? If not, can it be addressed in an update?

The RMI selector knob rotates inaccurately. The information below suggests there should be four stop positions, but in reality the knob rotates irregularly and occasionally jumps. To operate it, place the pointer over the RMI knob on the screen and rotate it with the mouse wheel. I hope to fix this in the next bug fix , Thank you.
