Thursday at 12:39 AM2 days I've been currently testing out the A340s capabilities and must say it's a lovely aircraft. Today I tried out some different RNAV/RNP approaches and have made the discovery that it doesn't handle them quite as nicely as I've hoped it would. The first one was the RNP Z into LICJ 25, a very simple approach yet using the app mode (final app) in the A340 did not work. Next one was the RNP Y into LOWS 33, I know this is pretty unrealistic for an A340 but as of what I've heard, in theory it should handle it nicely. Here the aircraft had issues using both the app mode (final app) mode with the v/dev aswell as the constraints to fly down normally. Is this an issue related to me not having the Navigraph Data (as there's no option on the arrivals page to select an RNP approach but only an RNAV - in every aircraft I own) or is it an issue with the aircraft alone/any inibuilds airbus (as the A350 also has problems flying RNAV/RNP approaches) or is it something I'm completely unaware of?Would love to get an answer as I'm kind of confused to what the problem is :) Edited Thursday at 12:40 AM2 days by Spasper
3 hours ago3 hr Staff Hello,Flight logic for the A340 is something that the team is looking to investigate as we've received feedback regarding the behavior you noted. I'll have to look into why RNP approaches aren't appearing, it's possible that you might need to clear the WASM folder or logout of Navigraph and then back in after restarting the sim. I'll pass that along to our team. Thank youHopefully this clears any confusion up.
2 hours ago2 hr You dont see Rnp in youre FMS since a RNP approach is a rnav based approach. RNP is basicly a rnav approach but with extra performance monitoring and alerting. RNP allows for much tighter, scalable accuracy (down to 0.1 NM or less). So that is why there are no "RNP" on youre arrival page, for the rest im unknown on how good the planes flies therse approaches.
