GNS530 Power Cycling in Flight + GPU Issues

Featured Replies

Not sure if these are related, so I'm reporting them together.

The GPU will be disconnected on the PFB, but still show as available on the Engineer panel in all phases of flight.

I use the GNS530 + the INS for Navigation. The GNS530 for departure and arrival and the INS for the in between flight plan.

During the flight the GNS530 regularly reboots. Although it doesn't seem to effect guidance of the AP, it does cause me trouble with BATC and needing to check in again which can add burden to an over stimulated pilot during flight.

I did a flight last night and can provide logs if the storage location can be provided.

Hi, the first one if you can send a video either on youtube or google drive as that will better assist the team. As for the 2nd issue we have been investigating another electrical issue which more than likely is the reboot in flight you are experiencing.

I'll try to get a video for you tomorrow on my flight. Thank you for the response!

Just my 2 cent, I have noticed this reboot issue too.

Got it via Twitch. I believe it is now a overall power bug that occasionally presents at the GNS530 rebooting. The video should explain.

I also had a trim bug on approach and it showed up prior to securing the aircraft. Clipped that too. It stopped the ILS and LOC from engaging. They'd immediately disengage.

I included pictures of the GPU always showing on. I can grab a video from the stream if that helps as well.

We believe this may be related to an issue some users encountered, where the electrical generator would briefly reset during flight. This momentary interruption appeared to have a knock-on effect on avionics (GPS/INS/PMS) and other electrical systems. A workaround for this electrical issue has been implemented in version 1.0.4.

Please let us know if you still experience it after that update.

Hmm, can't repro this. It is correctly illuminating with AVAIL only when GPU is connected via the PFB. Tested both with/without GSX (just to see if it was perhaps forcing it avail).

Thanks for the response Rich! I did download a GSX profile for the aircraft and it struck me that it could be the cause of the issue.

Is there a GSX profile included by default, and if so how do I restore the original?

There is no default profile, though we do have an "official" one available in the FAQ section:

https://forum.inibuilds.com/forum/744-faqs/

You just delete any 3rd party profile you installed and replace it with this one. Restart COUATL after if sim was running at the time.

I appreciate all the help. I'll try it tonight.

The links should be fixed now.

I'd just like to say in latest version 1.0.5 the GNS unit still power cycles in flight.
