Immensely weird autopilot behaviour

I loaded an autosave and now have about 40 fps before frame gen, flying over the black sea and whenever I try to use 4x time accel the aircraft will rock and the autopilot is immensely sluggish and sometimes as a result of this time accel behaviour due to the FPS the autopilot will disconnect
However everytime I try to reengage the aircraft will do a crazy pitch up jerk and then well, disconnecting the autopilot which is extremely annoying I have to nearly pitch down to the max before I engage it just to fight the tendency it has, that should not be occurring at all
