STK Posted Sunday at 05:29 PM Posted Sunday at 05:29 PM On the altimeter, the hundreds drum number rotates appropriately slowly or rapidly based on the altitude of the aircraft, but it seems like the thousands drum ticks over and won't rotate to approach the next digit. (I haven't taken it above 10,000 yet so I don't know if the first digit drum does the same) Example, I can be slowly climbing from 8000 feet to 9000 feet, and at 8900 feet the 8 digit will still be fully visible, and will only tick over to 9 in a flash once actually hitting 9000. Consequently, if I am flying let's say at 8999 feet, the altimeter will show 8000 feet just because the thousands digit hasn't ticked over.
UpUpandAway Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago I can confirm this. Cruising at 14000, 13000 is shown unless you climb just a few feet for the thousands drum to tick over to 14.
