Swisspilot1986 Posted July 13 Posted July 13 I just tried to achieve a turnaround by looking the HUD especially for TO and landing and I'm confused not about the the work of IniBuilds but about its utility in general and in the real aircraft, too. I even use no HUD in my car so each time I see this HUD in the A350 I've the impression to miss information so I'm still looking the PFD. I don't know it's a matter of habit. What's your experience?

ATM only useful if you are blind, as it saves you wearing dark black glasses Agree. The tint is too dark and does not give you much situational awareness of the surroundings. I hope ini reduces the tint in coming updates. I noticed it's not too dark in FS2020. May be it's the SU3 beta issue where tint is too much. It's a great addition. Makes landings much easier even with high sensitive 350 controls. Simple just keep the smaller donut within the bigger donut. Lol Edited July 13 by LineDX
Swisspilot1986 Posted July 13 Author Posted July 13 Do we know which airlines have this? It costs a lot without a big safety improvement in my opinion.

Not many operators have it, in the sim it doesn't do as much as it would do irl. I know Qatar, Air France and Lufthansa have a HUD irl.

Puts all info right in front of you so you don't need to look down, helps you conduct near perfect takeoffs and landings, even shows you exactly when to start flaring (flashing double arrows), and by how much (pull the aircraft symbol from the big white bars to the end of the runway and keep it there till touchdown). Info on the HUD is usually more pinpoint than on PFD, among others.
Swisspilot1986 Posted July 13 Author Posted July 13 I've heard the HUD allows a manual landing in case of a CATIII
silentghostx Posted July 13 Posted July 13 At the moment the FPV doesn’t actually point to where the aircraft is heading to, so it’s not that useful until it’s fixed… 1
