Rob Ainscough Posted Thursday at 05:43 AM Posted Thursday at 05:43 AM Made a quick video here: Just purchased today from iniBuild's Store, 2024 version
AndyM Posted Friday at 03:29 PM Posted Friday at 03:29 PM What is your TLOD? I have this problem with a TLOD at 400, I reduced it to 200 and it's gone. When I first spawn in, they are not there, then if I switch quickly between FREE CAM and RESUME a number of times I get the glitches. Someone suggested that the graphics card might be on it's way out. I've just purchased a brand new 5080 and it's the same. Not sure if it's a problem with some airports and the way the developer had built it, or a MSFS issue. Rob Ainscough Posted Friday at 03:40 PM Author Posted Friday at 03:40 PM (edited) Yes, TLOD is at 400. Parking spot is 581. At first, I thought it was a conflict with another vendor ... and sure enough I had Gaya Simulations EGLL as I got the Aviator version of MSFS 2024. I uninstalled iniBuild's EGLL. I uninstalled Gaya Sim EGLL. Cleared/Reset my scenery cache. Loaded MSFS 2024, went to EGLL and got the same colored spikes. So it seems this issue is with MSFS 2024 base content. EDIT: not a VRAM issue, 5090 with 22GB our to 32GB being used. Edited Friday at 03:41 PM by Rob Ainscough
AndyM Posted Friday at 04:02 PM Posted Friday at 04:02 PM I don't have many 2024 airports, but I couldn't get it to happen at Flightbeams Portland v2, so not sure what the issue is. I've not seen anyone else report this sort of issue though, maybe most people are at TLOD 200?
Rob Ainscough Posted Friday at 04:16 PM Author Posted Friday at 04:16 PM (edited) So far EGLL "base" (no add-on) is the only airport (I have many airports installed) I've experienced this issue and seems to be specific to parking spot 581. I've reported the issue to MS/Asobo via their official bug reporting system. Hopefully addressed in SU3 when it goes final. Edited Friday at 04:17 PM by Rob Ainscough 1
AndyM Posted Friday at 06:25 PM Posted Friday at 06:25 PM Here is Stand 564 with just the TLOD settings changed from 200 to 400. I only have the 777 and EGLL installed. My PC is basically new, 9950X3D with 5080 FE and 64GB ram. So something is not right, not sure if it's MSFS LOD system or something in the scenery files not loading properly on the higher TLOD settings. 1
Rob Ainscough Posted Friday at 08:56 PM Author Posted Friday at 08:56 PM I'll test this on my other PC with MSFS 2024 on it using an AMD 7900XTX 24GB ... see if it's GPU/driver related or just an issue with MS/Asobo. Good to know it's other locations at EGLL and good to know I'm not alone ... might give us a tad more leverage with MS/Asobo to fix.
Rob Ainscough Posted Friday at 09:22 PM Author Posted Friday at 09:22 PM Well, looks like it's an nVidia driver issue (not surprisingly given nVidia seem be all in on AI now and GPUs a distant past). Made a quick video on my other PC Same Ultra Settings with TLOD = 400 (no FSR): AMD 9950X3D X870E chipset 64GB RAM AMD 7900XTX (v25.6.1) I'll add this info to my post on MS/Asobo official forum. 1
Rob Ainscough Posted Friday at 09:32 PM Author Posted Friday at 09:32 PM My post got merged into several other users with the exact same issue ... based on their posts, they all seem to be using nVidia GPUs. I added to the thread that it seems to be an nVidia driver issue and all good on AMD side.
AndyM Posted Friday at 09:34 PM Posted Friday at 09:34 PM Thanks for the info. Do you have a link to the post please? I don't think it's a recent driver issue. It happened on my 3090 with drivers 566.36 from last December. I may try an earlier drver when I get time.
