Felipe Lobo Posted July 4 Posted July 4 Hi everyone! I have a weird bug in which the external lights are not reflecting on the ground. I think this happened after the SU15 but I'm not 100% sure. I asked on the MSFS Discord and someone pointed that "[the lights] are not bright enough for the light to reach", don't know if MS updated something related to that. Because I wasn't sure this bug was only happening on the A300, I made 2 videos with the exact same graphic settings, scenery, weather and time, comparing the A300 and the Fenix A320. I tried to change my graphic settings but nothing changed. I also searched on some forums but almost all issues are outdated or talking about a different issue. Hope you can replicate it and fix it! 🙂 Thanks! My Specs: i7-8700K 1070-Ti 8gb 16gb RAM
Felipe Lobo Posted July 4 Author Posted July 4 I also deleted the NVIDIA Cache and MSFS Rolling Cache as suggested by other members.
richboy2307 Posted July 4 Posted July 4 Hi @Felipe Lobo What display settings are you using? Can you try changing your Antialiasing settings? Also DX11 vs DX12 to see if theres any such setting causing conflict? I'm not seeing such issues on the A300 with DX11: Here are my settings: Also try with an empty community folder, to rule out any conflict with another addon. To run with a blank community folder without losing your addons: Rename your existing community folder to ``_Community`` Create a new ``Community`` folder in its place. Copy only the ``inibuilds-aircraft-a300-600`` folder inside it. Run the sim and see if same problem persists. If yes, then you can close the sim, and restore your original folder as follows: Copy the ``inibuilds-aircraft-a300-600`` folder back to ``_Community`` Delete the new ``Community`` folder you made Rename the ``_Community`` folder to ``Community`` If no, then that means there is some other addon conflicting with the ini A300. Usual suspect is bad liveries, so you could try by adding only some of the other a300 liveries in until you can reproduce the problem. Same process for other addons till you find the culprit. Thanks! Felipe Lobo Posted July 4 Author Posted July 4 (edited) Hey @richboy2307 thanks for your reply! I'm using DX11 and my Antialiasing is set to TAA. I changed between all Antialiasing modes and no change is visible. I also tested DX12 and it's the same. All those tests above were made using the ini default livery and no liveries installed. Have you tried with an empty community folder (nothing but the A300 in it)? Just to rule out some conflict with another add-on or lighting mod? Also perhaps try to use this lighting mod?https://flightsim.to/file/66466/inibuilds-a300-external-lighting-fix Vrishabh Sehgal ( @Richboy2307 ) Community Team Member & Tester IniBuilds Ltd. | inibuilds.com
Felipe Lobo Posted July 5 Author Posted July 5 Yes, the last photo is with an empty community folder. I already tried that mod, and it changes things related to the a/c lightning but no change on the ground or reflections.
Felipe Lobo Posted July 5 Author Posted July 5 So, I discovered I'm not the only one with this problem. Testing with more aircraft, I discovered I have almost the same problem with the PMDG B738 (landing lights and taxi lights are visible, but beacon, strobes and nav aren't). And there are some people having the exact same problem with the PMDG 77W. So I guess it has something to do with MSFS SU15. https://forum.pmdg.com/forum/microsoft-flight-simulator-2020-2024-products-discussion/pmdg-777/model-animations-documentation-aa/314178-taxi-landing-lights-illumiation 1

Eddie Posted September 23 Posted September 23 5 hours ago, Felipe Lobo said: it didn't... Hi again, I assume you have tried a complete reinstall of the aircraft since then? We've attempted to reproduce the issue and what @richboy2307 has suggested already are usually the primary suspects as to why these issues arise. Unfortunately I'm not sure we can be of more help since, like you mentioned, it seems simulator-wide. I understand that is not what you want to hear however things like these have the habit of fixing themselves. If you have any other information that could be helpful in cracking down the issue, that is more than welcome. Thank you! EddieCommunity Manager IniBuilds Ltd. | inibuilds.com
Felipe Lobo Posted September 23 Author Posted September 23 Hey Eddie, Yes, I tried to uninstall and reinstall again but it's not working. However, yesterday I discovered that they work by "resetting" the Light Intensity on the "User Lights" tool. I posted on the MSFS forum here with a video https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/aircraft-lights-not-reflecting-on-ground-and-aircraft-worked-when-resetting-the-light-intensity-on-dev-mode/656015/3
Eddie Posted September 23 Posted September 23 Interesting. Glad it's sorted for you regardless. Will look into this, thanks for the information! 😉 EddieCommunity Manager IniBuilds Ltd. | inibuilds.com
Felipe Lobo Posted September 23 Author Posted September 23 Yeah, sure! Well... it's not working yet. This is such a pain to do this every time the plane loads. But, let's see what MSFS says...
Eddie Posted September 23 Posted September 23 Definitely not fun to keep doing, but unfortunately I personally have idea if there are any alternative solutions, at least for now. Hoping MS fixes this soon 🙂 1 EddieCommunity Manager IniBuilds Ltd. | inibuilds.com
