  1. In the real aircraft you really can’t hear the speedbrakes in the cockpit at all. There is some airframe vibration, but not much audible. I really hope this could be adressed, as I often find myself decreasing my speakers’ volume whenever I use the speedbrakes.

One thing you can see from this video and even the screen capture is that the lettering on the CRT’s is a bit “off”. Just slightly crooked/misaligned or differently sized, and the coloring is not quite even. These imperfections are small, but just enough to make a graphic designer annoyed. This small quirk is a part of what I mean by the “ambiance” of these screens.

Thanks! Indeed, I should correct that the current simulation is not ”unrealistic”. However the A340 is essentially a ”retro” airliner and many simmers, including myself, will typically fly routes and liveries of the past. In the golden age of the A340, it was all CRT’s. (And no EFB’s either, but that’s a bit of a necessity in a modern addon🙂)
  4. I do love finally having a proper EIS1 Airbus in the sim! However I find it a bit unrealistic that the MCDU is the same (LCD) regardless of the EIS model. Older, EIS1 equipped planes would typically have an MCDU with a CRT screen, though I believe this is not tied to the EIS version itself. Having a CRT MCDU either as an option or default on EIS1 tails would be great. As is the case with the EIS displays, the CRT in the MCDU has a much smaller display area and a whole different ambience to them. Also, the screen is a bit “deeper” in the unit. Most noticeably the text is more difficult to read from the jumpseat.
  5. I must agree with all of the feedback stated here. The spool-up and high thrust sounds in there current state are a bit of a moodkill. I have never been in a real A340 cockpit in flight, but in the forward cabin many times. I know Youtube videos etc. may not be a good reference, but many of these cockpit videos do bring me down memory lane. The iniBuilds does not. (Regarding the takeoff roll, at least) In many aspects the sounds are very good. Startup and idle and in flight with lower thrust/higher speed it sounds very good actually. Exterior sounds are also quite realistic. One thing I do have to add is the speedbrake aerodynamic sound, which is far too intense imo. I have flown in the A330 cockpit many times (which should in this sense be similar to the 340) and the speedbrake is barely, if at all audible up front. In the cabin it’s another story of course. The topic of sounds in a desktop flightsim is a difficult one to debate. Sound engineering itself is a very technical task, but then again most feedback is based on feeling, which is a very non-scientific/non-technical thing. However, when several users get the feeling this just doesn’t sound right and even so much they take the time and effort to write feedback, it does give reason to believe there is room for improvement.
