  1. Good to hear, Eddie! It’s a great airplane and MSFS2024 makes it even more realistic! If I could ask for a favour, would it be possible to include separate weathering layers in the 2024 paint kit? Oil streaks, staining, etc? Many thanks!

  5. The Royal Canadian Navy operated some T-33s in the mid to late 1950s as both utility aircraft, and as advanced trainers for those pilots who would go on to fly the McDonnell F2H-3 Banshee jet fighters which operated off Canada's last aircraft carrier, HMCS Bonaventure. This repaint represents a T-33 Mk.3 of VT 40, jet training squadron based at HMCS Shearwater, Nova Scotia. 6. Tweaked some stuff: toned down the rivet decals, especially on the anti-glare surfaces, added more weathering, adjusted metal colour and reflectivity, going to redo some of the stencils. should be ready later today. Already released skins will be updated to take advantage of tweaks.

  9. Good stuff!
  10. Would it be possible to get an improved paint kit that includes all the separate layers that were used to make the base layer in the existing paint kit? It would be much easier to make painted surfaces when the weathering/lines/rivet shading can be placed on top of the new paint layer instead of vice versa. Thanks!

  11. Number two, coming soon, 21013 of the Central Flying School, RCAF Station Trenton, Ontario, circa mid-1950s. Similar paint scheme to '401 above (same era), but with natural metal tip tanks and some other minor differences.
  12. I don't remember, I'll have to check, and yes, it's CYUL. First paint scheme basically done, just some minor adjustments to do.
  13. In the home stretch, should be done in another day or so. Just a few things to clean up/correct.
  14. Oh, one other thing, the two white nav lights above the exhaust? The upper one should be AMBER, not white. A lot of military jets of the era used amber lights combined with the white ones (F-86, F-104 off the top of my head) and when set to Flash, they would alternate on and off - amber on, white off; amber off, white on, etc.
  15. Now compare the pics above to the 3D model. I believe the port needs to be raised up by at least its own height, to sit just under the horizontal line of rivets above it. Also, there should be at least one electrical ground power access panel near the right wing fillet trailing edge, I’m unsure how many panels were on the Lockheed model but the Canadair version had a few panels in that location:
  16. In starting to make paint schemes for the model (lovely model by the way), I’ve noticed there’s an error in location of the oval outlet port on the left rear fuselage, namely it’s too low. This became apparent when placing markings on the rear fuselage and wondering why the vent always seemed to be in the way. The model appears to be a hybrid of both the Lockheed and Canadair built T-33s, it has the fuselage outlet port and extended tailpipe of the RR Nene powered Canadair model, but also retains the rear fuselage louvre panels of the Allison powered Lockheed model. The outlet port should by higher up on the fuselage, just about at the underside of the stabilizer. There should be a good sized gap between the port and the rounded rectangular access panel underneath it, see pics included (More to follow): In the last pic below you can see the port behind the gentleman on the right and the access panel below behind his right shoulder.
  17. Updated the red leading edge wing root markings, flap border stripes (RCAF had them extend inboard into the wing fillet), and the walkways on the upper wing root to match period photos. Stencils to go and this one's about done. Stencils as they are right now are not correct for the early 50s, the big colourful RESCUE and EJECTION SEAT markings didn't come along until later on but I'm planning lots of paint schemes from over the years so I'm sizing things for future skins too...
  18. Shined the aluminum a bit, starting to add the stencils now.
  19. Yeah, I think those were the original T-33's brought on strength before Canadair started delivery. They had the earlier underslung tip tanks similar to the F-80 and were known as the Silver Star Mk.1
  20. Coming along, redoing the fuselage markings. The decal files are nice but they aren't the same scale, if you are using standard sized markings between the fuselage and wing (and tail for that matter) they will appear to be different sizes once on the model. Still have to do cutouts around lower wing markings and clean up some other stuff.
