  1. Its out.

4K textures (fuselage number 44-2) for the model of Messerschmitt Bf-108 "Taifun" done by iniBuilds for MSFS. The skin has few improvements as well like: historical markings, redefining colors, more weathering effects, stickers and new colours of interior and more. Model has a few limitation so I adjusted the repaint to the requirements of the model. This skin is a bit cleaner than the previous one (D-IHDD, I had some requests for it), but it's more tired and the plane itself wasn't treated kindly enough. This airplane (44-2) was used by Legion Condor, Spain. The repaint presents of the plane in 1939 (based on a photo taken in Seville). The aircraft was painted in RLM63/65 livery and had a custom roundel marking on the fuselage.  Btw. The presentation of historical markings is only informative and consistent with historical sources (like all models or historical photos), it's of course not intended to propagation any ideology. Fly with classic cockpit only! Regards.

    Heya once again YoYo 😄

I know you are very adamant about this being wrong in our model, but I unfortunately have to disagree there. All the materials you presented here are contradicting themselves at different parts. In the video at 4:50 they have a slide that says it opens automatically with AOA. Same with the picture in the next post; in the second paragraph it says "which relates to angle of attack only"

We spoke to several owners of BF108s and they all said they aren't generally closed above 130km/h.

And to what Marko said earlier; they don't drop out instantly. You'd have to have a very violent change in AOA handling for that to happen; which physically is impossible.

I thik this state about rela Bf-108 is very clear:

"Because the 108 designers around Willy Messerschmitt took over the automatic slat from Handley-Page (Lachmann). And from a speed of 130 km/h, these begin to leave their position on the leading edge of the wing and stretch forward. This is done with such precision and predictability that the narrow surfaces not only function as a buoyancy aid, but also as a replacement for the airspeed indicator."

But apart from that, the big problem is simply that they don't hide at all.

Request from my side: if they are retracting give me the rate of descent or ascent and airspeed when the slats are fully retracted and are on 100% the wing line, I will reproduce this in my MSFS. Unfortunately, I never noticed that the slats were hidden, they always stick out, this is general problem here for me :).

  3. Why we can have too very short time for edit 😕 here.

    The model:

    speed .... 250 km/h, straight flight, AoA=0:

    image.png.0f34659ae8ddf453087849c2c572b934.png

Impossible to have slats in this postion IRL, so this part is buggy. They should be on the wingline above 130 km/h for example as it was above.

  4. It turns out that no one is right, the slats are unfortunately badly made in the model in the whole line.

Bf-108 uses Handley-Page (Lachmann) type of slats so they dont work like in most airplane!

Slats in Bf-108 are ALWAYS closed over 130 km/h, below are just beginning to open. In this case, they do not depend on AoA (strange but its true), but on the speed of the aircraft and even act as a speed indicator. Exactly at 130 km / h they open only, before they have to be on the wing line.

You can use translate Google: https://www.flugrevue.de/klassiker/die-aelteste-fliegende-taifun-bf-108-taifun-in-traditionsfarben/

This means that in every screenshot I've made, they should just be closed, and they didn't.

  5. Guys, after near one month of flying - I never noticed that slats can be closed. It's a really simple design, with increasing AoA they open, otherwise they are closed, especially in dive. They've never been closed here. I think it's worth improving. Something is wrong with the animation or code. Pls to add for list of issues.

The system to get chocks didn't change from the last update..

Yes, as I wrote, it's ok the tablet you have 2 places for this. My foul.

Im still thinking taht will be better to do with parking brake like this:

1/ on = shortkey for parking brake on (LShift+B) = chocks appears and invisble parking brake is starting to hold the plane.

2/ off = 3D model of chocks dissapears, the plane is free.

The logic is basically simple and no issue to create this coding. 😉

Its possible and we have it in few addons for MSFS.

  7. Good news, finally I found the reason.

I had conflict with this key "Z" or Alt/Shift with "Z". I used this shortcut for Sky4Sim map (as next page), so during the flight sometimes I activated autopilot without knowing. I removed "Z" from MSFS settings. Will see however I think now will be ok. Id like to share my experience about it here.

No issue for me. Did you enable them in the settings?

Yes for sure, on/off few times (SU12). Engine was cold too.

I'll check it again. Maybe the restart of the sim will bring something new. Thx.

    Did the situation repeat itself?

No, yesterday was ok, but I only flew 30-40 minutes. Will definitely be back if something like this happens again. I checked autopilota state from beginning, it was on OFF position. Now its ok but we will see later ;).

I can't see a label for the positions for the fuel selector. I know open is left and closed is right but in the Weight and Balance screen, I see Front Left, Rear Left, Front Right, Rear Right, Rear Fuse and Emergency Reserve.

Hi, hmm. Are you sure you that you wrote about Taifun?

The main knob is between chairs, it has 3 position only. Left is closed (not open like you wrote), right is open (not closed like you wrote). I see labels too (PC version from iniManager).

It was a request to turn in off from my side at begining for cold and dark but idea wasnt accepted, you can check screenshot how it looks:

The main valve is on the left to up/down between front panel and the wall (lever).

  11. Today I did long flight, about 1,5h. I fly with classic cockpit only. I'm one of those who like realism. But during the flight I lost control of the plane 3 times. I didn't know what happened. My ailerons were fully deflected and the plane hardly reacted to the controls. I opened a tablet, activated AP to see it .... it was "ON". When I had it turned off, everything was back to normal and I was able to control the plane again. The problem though was that it happened 3 times, and I'm on classic cockpit after all and I don't want any autopilot. This looks like some kind of conflict. Please verify and fix it. It wasn't pleasant :(.

    Use with classic cockpit :P.

  13. Okay I checked. Yes, giving up the classic cockpit immediately adds autopilot. It's a bit pointless. I honestly don't understand why add it at all. Maybe there will be someone who would like a glass cockpit as well, and then what? 😉 Is flying really a torture to add auto modes in such a small plane that doesn't have an autopilot? Some people are weird, really. They need realism, and then it turns out they need to add devices that aren't there. It only proves that they don't seem to understand how trims work. The model can be trimmed so that it is almost "hands off" (near). It's so heavy? However, ok, I agree, if there must be an autopilot, make it an option just so that it doesn't spoil the view of virtual cockpit, for people who prefer realism, not sci-fi. 👍

  14. Didnt tested yet but agree. Firstly - we dont need it, I didnt see any request of this (lazy pilots or what? 😁). Second, if its an option, it should be an option for classic or moder cockpit, on/off option. User can choose. I'll try 1.0.2v Tomorrow 🙂 ! Thx!
