Hello,
I just completed a test with all 3 variants available with a timed take off and fly to waypoint. And a departure waypoint to waypoint flight. Yours was the slowest by 35ish seconds on takeoff to waypoint and 40ish seconds slower tan the waypoint to waypoint flight. All were conducted in the same conditions same flight level and same in game time. The other two models were showing higher flight speeds in kts and mph. Just some feedback for you.
Thank you for the feedback.
You are comparing different products believing each one is correct in their own flight modelling. Of course we can only attest to our own product and not other companies products.
We have carried out extensive testing, even after your initial feedback, on our P-40F and it is on the numbers based on data, but also from multiple real life pilot accounts.
We were very fortunate to be able to have access to flight crew and mechanics here in the UK during development and the most common answer is that no aircraft ever flies the same or even to the published numbers and there are so many factors to achieving top speed, fuel range, distance, etc.
We are confident we have this correct based on all feedback in the real world, not just flight manuals, and subsequently tailored as such for MSFS CFD technology.
However, we do appreciate your feedback to ensure we are making the highest quality products achievable.
Warm regards,
Ellise.

Hello Guys,
The model / textures you see in the trailer / pre-release is not the release model.
This mirror issue is not present on the release candidate.
Many thanks,

Hello all!
new to the forums not new to the P-40 as a real world aircraft as it has been one of two favorite planes of mine since childhood. We have one here at the Museum of Flight and I drool on it every time I see it😆 Anyway I just picked up the P-40F and I think it’s beautiful.BUT I have noticed a couple of things with flight and mechanical dynamics I was wondering about.I am going over all of the systems in the aircraft and I have tried with assistance on and off, I normally fly off.
I have noticed a slower speed than the public documentation for the aircraft from Curtiss. I have gone through all of the test elevation and weight envelopes.
I have noticed that the plane is supposed to be over 1000 lbs heavier than a B but it feels really light and floaty like a Cessna would be.When pulling aft on the stick either in a banked hard turn or hard pitch up there is severe buffeting/ oscillations. While at war power
when pitching forward the nose tucks extremely fast then returns to a dive. Or nose over.
On final moving flaps down, gear down, the plane takes forever to slow down even if I cut throttle.
this is just in the first day I flew it.
Now I LOVE this plane model fyi, just what I have noticed.
I have real world visual experience seeing the P-40 flying, taking off and landing, spoken with pilots and have done dissertations on the P-40 back when I was in school.
I really appreciate the work done for this plane and just want to either get clarification or just help with feedback is all.
thanks IniBuilds for this bird now I can have 2!!!!!Hey and welcome to the forums and P-40F!
Can you please give some reference speeds, fuel weight loadouts, altitude, etc as to how you were flying to get this behaviour as I'm not seeing it here?
We have all data and pilot notes from the team up at Duxford and had many discussions with pilots on behaviour which the aircraft has been tuned to.
Thanks,
Ellie.

You were right. To follow the checklist and gently use the throttle fixed it. 🙂Thx for the hint. I was so focused on that issue that i didn't think about the simple things.
About VR, I get around 27 - 30 fps with these settings in the planes i've mentioned. When i load in the P-40 its almost a frame by frame show. So something causes a high load. I will try to adjust the VR settings and have a look if there is an option that causes the drop.
Thanks for the feedback

Hello,
We are aware of an issue with the P-40F regarding the MS Marketplace build on PC in relation to the fuel pump switch. This seems to be intermittent for some users and we are currently working on a fix for this which will be patched immediately by us, but may take some time to hit the Marketplace due to processing times.
You can continue using the plane by the following methods:
- Open the in-sim checklist, go to the Engine Start Procedure, select the “Fuel Pump” line and click “Tick Item”. The switch won’t physically show as on but it will be in the background.
- Press CTRL+ E to auto-start the engine

Can you guys please post which version of the sim you are using, Steam or Onestore

Let me know if there's anything you want me to try etc.
Thanks, we simply can't reproduce it with our source files. Digging deeper into it 🙂

Thanks All, we are looking into this as we can't reproduce it with our Marketplace source files however the Marketplace download is having intermittent issues.

Hey Ells.
Thanks for your message.
Also what hardware are you using for rudder?
I use the Thrustmaster TPR as rudder input.
Also what wind settings are you using, live weather or a pre-set?
Wheather settings are most of the time live wheater.
Are you following the in-sim checklist or QRC's for throttle settings during takeoff or are you just using full throttle?
To be onest i didn't follow the in-game checklist and did a full throttle takeoff.
Prop RPM Lever Full Forward
Throttle Slowly increase to 50 inchesI will try that and will give some feedback.
Here are my VR settings.
Thanks for the VR settings. DLSS and set to quality will hammer your VR headset a little, however you said you don't see drop in other planes so that's interesting. The P40 has been optimised a lot for VR and I have a Quest 2 and get a lot higher frames than that, will look into it more.
Yes I'd follow the in-sim checklists for take-off, cruise and landing throttle/manfold/rpm settings.
Also depends on your live weather but sounds like you had some cross-wind as well, not seeing any issues our end.

Devs, can you please address the issue in my initial post about incorrect quick views? It would be nice to know if it will be corrected in an upcoming update, or if there's a file we can edit to correct them. Thank you.
Fixed in the next patch

Just to add a note to this, have just tested several take off's at different airports with zero wind and some with wind (5knts).
Prop RPM Lever Full Forward
Throttle Slowly increase to 50 inchesI don't get much swing once the tail comes up but do sometimes have to dance on the rudder pedals with wind which is to be expected.

Hey inibuilds.
First of all, thanks for your fantastic plane you've created. I love flying it.
There was allready a topic because of performance in VR (from jamie13) but it got closed so i have to open a new one.
I have some issues with the P-40 i want to let you know about.
I'm using the Valve Index and have similar issues with performance. I only get about 8 to 10 fps in VR with the P-40. Other aircrafts (like 737-700, CRJ 550/700, DC-6) work great and have no performance issues. Without VR the framerate is ok.
Also when i start from the airfield the plane always turns to the left and even i use full right rudder i can't hold it on course. I'm using modern flight model and no assistant active.
My System specs:
AMD Ryzen 7 5800X
B550 Chipset
32 GB RAM
Geforce 3080TI
Hey Ron, thanks for posting your issues and system specs.
Can you please post a screenshot of your VR graphics settings so we can evaluate those.
Also what hardware are you using for rudder?
Are you following the in-sim checklist or QRC's for throttle settings during takeoff or are you just using full throttle?
Full throttle, especially when pushed full from idle will cause a lot of torque effect pushing the aircraft to the left.
Also what wind settings are you using, live weather or a pre-set?
Thanks,
Ells.

We have refined it in the next patch, it is much better in VR.

I use Quest 2 VR headset, I own P-38, Spitfire and F-6F this series of WWII aircraft, I am the first time to find this kind of blur. Although inibuildst created this remarkable aircraft with thicker bulletproof glass in front, it is interesting to note that the pilot's side window is rather blurred. I often had to fly with the cockpit cover open.
It is not easy to find on a normal screen, but several of our friends have the same problem with the P-40, but it is easier to find on VR. I found that people on the Microsoft Flight Simulator forum also reported this issue. Thanks, will look more into it.
-
VR Zoom we are still looking into along with a couple of other VR issues.
The glass up-front is thicker as it was bullet-proof and we replicated that a little hence the difference between side and front glass.
What VR headset are you using where you notice the difference that much?

Core 15 12600 3060 ti quest 2. Don't keep track of fps. No custom scenery. I simply notice less smooth graphics when I'm flying the warhawk. It could be my imagination, but I don't think it is. That's why I asked if anyone else had the issue. I will keep investigating on my end. As far as the speed issue goes, let's say I'm coming in to land in a clean configuration at 220 mph. I reduce mp to idle and it just does not bleed off speed like I believe it would. BTW, like most, I have never flew a Warhawk in real life, it just doesn't seem plausible to me. Again, great work on this airplane.
Thanks for the specs, I'm not seeing performance issues with the Quest 2. Are you using the link cable or air link?
Also that speed is too fast for entry into the pattern, She is a heavy bird designed to keep speed during dives and descent.
You can follow the in-sim checklists which will give indications on speed for landing:
Approach at 140mph with flaps half down, landing touch down at 115mph with full flaps.
Also if you watch a lot of videos on the P-40F you'll see they normally do a run in break over the runway to bleed off speed to get into the pattern.

Hey Jamie,
Thanks for your feedback.
Can you please let us know your system specs and what fps you are getting, where are you, what custom scenery, etc.
In terms of speed, can you please detail what you were doing, descent rate, clean configuration or flaps and gear, etc?
Many thanks

Thanks for reporting, fixed on next build.
