Suggestion: Make engine quieter (apply low pass filter) as aircraft gains altitude to simulate pressurization

Featured Replies

Hello guys,

Thanks for the great product.

One suggestion (something that might have been there already in the XP version ? I forgot).

IRL, as your aircraft gets higher and the differential pressure increases with pressurization, the engine sounds gets filtered. Basically as if a low pass filter was applied progressively as you climbed.

Technically, it means that the high pitched part of engine sounds from outside are "muted" by the differential pressure, but the lower, bassy sounds can still be heard in the cabin.

Also, at some point during climb, the dynamic wind sounds becomes the loudest and engines aounds gets very faint in comparaison.

See here:

You can compare the sounds between the 4th, 5th and 6th minute mark 😄

Currently we can still hear the engine whistle at idle while descending at FL300, that should not happen.

I think WWise allows to put such filters quite easily.

Thanks !
