MSFS 2024: INI Builds Aircraft - Weather & Terrain Radar

Before I commit to MSFS 2024, I'm trying to ascertain whether or not the weather and terrain radars work in all INI Builds aircraft, specifically the MSFS 2024 default Airbus types as well as payware such as the A300 (compatible & premium), A340 and A350.

There's a great deal of old information out there from the early days of MSFS 2024 as well as more recent postings on subject, plus some redirects from IB towards the MSFS forums, but I seem unable to to find a definitive answer to this question as even the IB marketing blurb doesn't give much away.

I'm not looking for a debate on the usefulness of these in-sim, rathermore a Y/N regarding implementation.

Can anyone please shed some light on the present implementation of weather and terrain radars in MSFS 2024 for the INI Builds fleet?

I find it hard to believe that INI Builds are unable to comment on this.

I’m certain they’d prefer customers not to speculate with assumptions, so why the reluctance?

Well, that about sums up the underwhelming INI Builds experience.

I've been trying to find out if it's just my experience (haven't been able to get weather or terrain radar working - PC MSFS 2020) or whether the A350 is currently unable to offer that.  I know that other developers have fixed weather radar introduction so am puzzled as to why (if it's not just me) IB hasn't fixed this yet.

You must download terrain data via the OIS.

WXR seems to work in MSFS20.

Thanks for raising this topic, it’s something a lot of simmers are understandably curious about. From the discussion so far, it seems that weather and terrain radar support in iniBuilds aircraft for MSFS 2024 isn’t fully clear or consistent yet. Some users have mentioned that weather radar worked reasonably well in earlier versions, but behavior in the 2024 sim can still be unpredictable depending on the aircraft and setup.

For terrain radar specifically, a few people pointed out that downloading the required terrain data through the aircraft’s systems is essential, and it’s an easy step to miss. There are also reports of the radar occasionally showing incomplete data or not activating properly until the sim is restarted, which suggests things may still be a work in progress.

Overall, it does look like the functionality exists to some extent, but it’s not as reliable as many would expect at this stage. Hopefully the dev team can clarify what’s currently supported and what improvements are planned, as clear communication here would really help the community.
