Twice now, takeoff from EDDF and can't get any lateral or vertical mode to engage.. for credibly, airline pilot here. What am I missing, or this a bug?

Not something we've been able to replicate. Are you able to grab a video/screenshot just after takeoff?

    Well, this is humbling.. thank you! Am I crazy, because I don't remember any other Airbus product requiring me to enable them on startup?

    No worries 🙂

    Must depend on the software installed in the plane. Some auto enable after entering like altitude on the MCP, some other don't it seems.
