ftony Posted August 31 Posted August 31 Hi, I've been experiencing a strange behaviour with the default A330. After entering my approach on the MCDU, all the aircraft displays freeze, all the systems freeze (even throttle) and tha aircraft continues to fly uncontrolled. I've already cleared WASM but still no solution. Hope you can help solve this. Thanks
Azlog Posted September 2 Posted September 2 It's a WASM crash and the default inibuilds aircraft are very prone to it. The safest thing you can do is enter your approach routing while on the ground setting up the flight. At the very least, make sure you are several hundred miles away from the arrival airport when you do it
Gizmo Posted September 6 Posted September 6 Just happened to me, too. However... my flight had a happy ending as despite all the displays being frozen, even though I had the A/P and A/THR in at the time I was able to fly manually, and gear and flaps were working through mapped controls, so with the aid of the Navigraph maps and telemetry I was able to not just get safely on the ground, but actually managed a -50fpm butter landing!
Madmapper Posted November 9 Posted November 9 This just happened to me tonight, on my first flight using the default A330. I left JFK on my way Schilphol Airport in Amsterdam. 60nm out from my T/D I asked atc to verify my arrival star and runway. Put that information into the MCDU and got within 20 miles of the airport and everything froze up. Azlog suggests entering the approach routing while on the ground setting up the flight. Has this worked for anyone?? Can you make changes in route if the runway and star changes and not get a freeze?
