I'm finding that I can't get the F406 to go any faster than about 20 knots in MSFS 2024. When the plane loads I remove the chocks and covers, get the engines and systems started and taxi out. When starting the take off roll though, I advance the throttles to takeoff power and the plane will only do about 20 knots. The engine instruments register the correct power setting but no acceleration.

This is a problem in MSFS 2024 only. Everything works fine in MSFS 2020.

Am I missing something here?

Thanks.

I have exactly the same problem. At first I thought I hadn't removed the wheel chocks. So I restarted the flight. But the F406 does not accelerate. I am really disappointed and hope for a solution soon. Thanks

Hello,

Very sorry to hear you're experiencing issues! Can't say we've seen/heard about this. Works as intended on our end; would you mind grabbing a quick video showing this in action? Would be very much appreciated and make it a lot easier to diagnose what could be going wrong here.

Thank you 🙂

I have had this issue as well, during the take off roll the plane isnt producing power to accelerate. I did notice that the autofeather lights we flickering, then solid, then only one was blinking. Maybe its related to the autofeather switch being in arm? It sounded lick and the instruments would show in increase in ITT and N2 but then the Torque would drop sharply as the props would feather. They were not responding to the Prop Pitch levers.

Sorry, I have no possibility to record a video. Nvidia and Game Bar are deactivated for me.

Is this happening to every variant of the aircraft?

I have tried reproducing this on the cargo variant so far and to no avail.

I cannot replicate this at will but I did have the RPM drop away in the cruise on my first flight, disarmed the auto feather and the RPM went back to where it was set for the cruise.

We'll continue to look into it and hopefully be able to get you an answer as to why this is happening. I am starting to lean towards it being some kind of binding issue but not ready to confirm that just yet. Your patience is very much appreciated and I understand this is frustrating issue to be having.

Shout if you need me to test anything

Hi I'm having the same issue even before the recent update.  I've looked into many of the bindings and can't find anything that's conflicting.  On the runway and engine run-up, the engine parameters look normal, it's like there is a brake being applied only at high-power settings.  Can't achieve much more than 20 knots or so.  If I load the aircraft on the runway, engines already running, then the problem does not exist, and I can take off normally.  But if I load the aircraft cold and dark, the problem persists on takeoff.  Hopefully this data point helps with your troubleshooting.  Looking forward to having this addressed, other than that brilliant airplane!  BTW this is with Cargo variant, I’ll update if I can replicate the problem in the other variants.

I’m having the same issue. I’m on Steam SU3 beta using cargo variant. Tried starting cold and dark and auto start. Checked all key bindings and peripherals so far to no avail. At current time plane unusable until such time as a solution can be found and implemented. Disappointed

All, quick update on this.  I do believe it's a peripheral / key binding issue.  I was not able to find the conflict on my main simming setup (yet), but I'm unable to replicate the issue on my gaming laptop which has very minimal peripherals and the Caravan II has no power loss/braking issues on takeoff.  Recommend looking very closely to see if those experiencing this problem can finding any conflicts with propeller pitch controls, feathering, beta/reverse thrust and braking.

Thank you IniSteve for your follow-ups, this is a very cool aircraft!
