nopixar Posted Saturday at 12:22 AM Posted Saturday at 12:22 AM (edited) Will try to keep this useful... Wanted to try out the new patch (which so far is much better from a crash/freeze perspective so well done for cleaning up the bits you have) The Change log is extensive so credit where credit is due.... Ive interacted with it on few short sectors and have done everything I'd do on a line flight (radial ins, extended ceterlines, route modifications, directs with/without abeams etc..so far no crashes so well done for the fixes. Please also take the assumption the aircraft has been set up correctly in line with realworld procedures. Not a 350 driver but fly 320 CEOs/NEOs. MSFS2020 Version 1.0.2 A350-900 TAKEOFF Sigh.... Common knowledge the aircraft sometimes likes to takeoff by itself and rotates with 1 degree of stick deflection in CONF 1+F, but decided to try out a CONF 2 takeoff. Performance calcs gave much higher speeds so knew some was going to be fishy but thought try it out anyway... Wasnt expecting what came next. At 100kts the Aircraft again started to rotate so pushed nose down to keep it on the runway. At VR released forward pressure aircraft rotated to roughly 5deg nose up on its own and shot into the air at 4000fpm with a FLEX of 67 degrees, at an almost flat attitude. God forbid what it would have been like with a CONFIG 3 takeoff perhaps a level helicopter/F-35 style style takeoff...Also SRS but no RWY FMA at an airport with an ILS (Which I found out why later on in the descent) CLIMB Nothing too crazy here. The aircraft undershoots the target speed a little bit but it behaved normally. This is where the aircraft is really nice, nice progressive smooth turns, follows the route nicely. Reacts accordingly to interventions, correct FMAs.. Its a really nice autopilot. No complaints.. CRUISE FL280 with a cost index of 18 (Relativley short trip) Aircraft decides ECON speed is 226kts. Speed starts winding back. Oviously a bug but no biggy, PULL selected speed and keep it there to interigate what the FMGC is smoking wanting me to cruise at almost green dot.. ECON says its 288kts with the correct Magenta doughnut at 288kts but pushing managed speed it wants to dial back to 226kts. This is a new bug/behaviour. Selected speed it is.. DESCENT/LANDING Back into MANAGED speed no problems. Correct speed, correct profile, speed remained in the Descent Speed Target Bracket. Sweet. Checked a Navaids to crosscheck the ILS frequency and its blank....So a new bug is the Aircraft no longer wants to auto tune ILS frequencies. (This is now why on Takeoff no RWY indication as it uses the ILS freq for RWY tracking that the aircraft is no longer tuning automatically) Punched in the Freq and course manually and made a normal approach. Another smallish bug is when pulling a selected speed the speed window opens from the next target speed. When you pull for speed it should open the window on the current speed. This made for some frantic speed winding up to 180kts. Wont go into the roll axis as its been done to death...BTV much improved as per change log, more consistant and less "on/off" So again well done on that. SOUNDS Better balanced, although still a bit weird in places. New ground roll is nice, but upon changing views disappears when going back to cockpit. Also a strange noise when moving viewpoint forward to around the glaresheild/windscreen area? Please also take a look at the APU sound, its enough to burst anyones eardrums when switching views. Overall better stability, no crashes doing some pretty intricate stuff which previously was causing it to lock up with several WASM specials....Still an absolute mess on takeoff, even worse in CONF 2 than CONF 1+F. Sort out the takeoff and its finally begining to emerge into the addon alot of us hoped it would be. Certainly a step in the right direction! Edited Saturday at 12:28 AM by nopixar 2
RogerWilco Posted Saturday at 04:15 AM Posted Saturday at 04:15 AM New ground roll is absolutely terrible. I was glad when it went away after a change of views.
