Cannot enable external power

Featured Replies

When starting cold and dark with a GPU attached to the plane, the "External Power" button lights up in green with "Avail" but I am unable to press. This means that I cannot set up the plane purely on the GPU and have to start he APU instead.

I have checked the free A310 that comes with MSFS as that is similar, and there the switch works as expected.

As I stated originally, the GPU is enabled in the EFB and "Avail" lit up. The button is simply not clickable.

Hi, sorry I was unable to reproduce the issue on latest version (1.1.4) from iniManager. It seems to be working fine for me, per video below.

Can you please try to clear your A300 WASM folder to see if that resolves the issue?

Clear everything inside this folder, it will be re-generated next time you launch the A300 in sim. Note, this will reset your throttle calibration so it will need to be done again.

Steam:
%APPDATA%\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Packages\inibuilds-aircraft-a300-600

MS Store:
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\Packages\inibuilds-aircraft-a300-600

If not, try running with an empty community folder (only inibuilds a300 inside) to rule out any conflicts due to other addons.

Quote

To run with a blank community folder without losing your addons:

  1. Rename your existing community folder to ``_Community``
  2. Create a new ``Community`` folder in its place.
  3. Copy only the ``inibuilds-aircraft-a300-600`` folder inside it.
  4. Run the sim and see if same problem persists.

Once you are done testing, you can close the sim, and restore your original folder as follows:

  1. Copy the ``inibuilds-aircraft-a300-600`` folder back to ``_Community``
  2. Delete the new ``Community`` folder you made
  3. Rename the ``_Community`` folder to ``Community``

Thanks!
