  1. The other "usual suspect" is conflicting bindings somewhere, especially with the throttles. EFB and panel sounds strange though - do you have anything set in FSUIPC, Spad or A&O? Bar that - it would have to be a horrendously outdated GPU driver 😞

  2. Just popped outside view and noticed:

    1. The rear facing white nav lights which look like floodlights on the ground seem to have an effective range of about 20 ft when airborne - same in external and drone cams - I see nothing from the rear until I move *real* close then they pop into existence.

    2. I seem unable to see the tail logo light when airborne either - when I landed it was on - is that how it works IRL?

  3. Not sure of relevance but *on my system* I encounter recurring but (seemingly) randomly triggered fps drops on various planes whenever I run DX12 rendering. Usually it's ok, but for example if I run GSX then my fps can drop by 50%. It is a real PITA - I want DX12 so I can pop out instruments with no frame hit but the in itself it can cause drops if something startles it....

Ignoring all this - my experience is close to @lowpolybuttBest performer is 737, 310 lower but great imo and Fenix which is always bringing up the rear (even then usable).

is there some requirement that something needed to be started or installed as admin to enable appropriate permissions to write this file?

The permissions for the work folder look strange. It kind of looks like it's read only but it is not. Drilling down to permissions show that my user (the one I run the game with) has full permissions. In addition - the game can clearly write simbrief.ini in the same directory so there is not a permissions issue.

Final point I think is that the retrieved xml is what the call to simbrief from the FMC would load as a fllightplan so really, lack of simbrief.xml is a symptom of the pending failure rather than a cause.

  5. Funnily enough I had this tonight at 26L EGKK when trying to set up for an autoland due to abysmal fps - believe that was caused by GSX. Platform was 2000 set on FCU, Land enabled and LOC acquired but I suddenly noticed I was at 1600ft still descending and had to fly it in manually - always fun at 8fps after a 6h30m leg from KJFK... This is on current release, not beta. I've had it once before (out of many flights) but I see no pattern yet. Was in HDG and manual speed mode DH=0 set.

  6. Yeah - I'd already tried that from my desktop and it retrieved the file by username and id.

Can you just confirm that the retrieval request routes to SB via MS? If so my only remaining thought is that the link is interrupted there because my SB user is identical to my MS one and for whatever reason MS blocks. If you confirm that routing then I'll set up a second SB a/c and see if that helps.

  7. What @fearlessfrog suggests makes sense - look for patterns. As an aside I just tried with empty community and no sim related background tasks down to navigraph, trackir, fsuipc etc. Exactly the same.

Also tried this am - using the simbrief xml OFP urls from my desktop browser - all good. Currently waiting simbrief devs to confirm if I'm safe to change my username there without breaking the Navigraph linkage. This is to see if having my SB user the same as MSFS user causes a brain fart.

So - my core sim platform is:

Win 10, Steam, AMD CPU, Nvidia GPU, 32Gig, Defender disabled

  8. Yeah - that was my first thought but everything else seems to work - Fenix, FBW, BAE146, WT CJ4 etc...

Key thing is it's not just me - if it was then I'd shut up 🙂 I see many other users experiencing this but assume it's still a relatively low percentage as only the impacted will mention.

Are there any tests I can do from the command line or maybe any way to enable extra logging in the app?

  9. It has never worked for me which seems to be the pattern for people. If it ever worked, it continues to work and if it never has it always goes to pending. Clearly my id worked for you so it suggests a platform difference. I originally suspected it was because I was on Steam but a couple of the others on this forum were on Store and still had the issue. It is perplexing...

  10. Hey Scott - this is what I have configured direct in MS configs - not certain they are all required but it works for me 🙂

I'll have a look a bit later for the matching lvars but about the only thing I fly with the TCA quadrant atm is the 310 so an occasional swap for the Fenix isn't the end of the world for me
