Is there a way to remove the default (Orbit, etc.) liveries on the PC??  

Heya!

Yes, you can manually remove them from

Steam\steamapps\common\MicrosoftFlightSimulator\Official\Steam\microsoft-aircraft-a310-300\SimObjects\Airplanes\microsoft_a310_300\texture.X

 

But they will still show up in the sim, you just save the harddrive space.

The only way to truly remove them would be either for Inibuilds to release the plane separately or for MSFS to stop encrypting aircraft.cfg files. Until either happen we're stuck with them.
