RAAS (Runway Awareness and Advisory System) is an optional feature designed to enhance situational awareness during ground operations by alerting the flight crew to the aircraft's position relative to taxiways and runways.

What is RAAS?

RAAS provides both visual and aural alerts to help prevent runway incursions and improve positional awareness during taxi, takeoff, and landing phases. Alerts are displayed on the PFD and ND, accompanied by corresponding audio callouts.

Available Alerts:

  • ON TAXIWAY: Indicates the aircraft is on a taxiway.

  • ON RUNWAY: Indicates the aircraft has entered a runway.

  • APPROACHING RUNWAY: Alerts when approaching a runway during taxi.

Enabling / Disabling RAAS

RAAS is optional and can be configured via the EFB:

Each alert can be individually enabled or disabled using its respective toggle switch.

Description

Visual Alert

Toggles the visual display of all RAAS alerts on the PFD and ND.

Audio Alerts - On Taxiway

Toggles the aural alert when the aircraft is on a taxiway.

Audio Alerts - On Runway

Toggles the aural alert when the aircraft is on a runway.

Audio Alerts - Approaching Runway

Toggles the aural alert when approaching a runway.
