How to - Change COM / NAV Frequencies, SQWK code and Volume via Radio Management Panel (RMP)

SYSTEM OVERVIEW

There are two Radio Management Panels (RMPs) on the cockpit pedestal. In the sim, these units allow you to 

• Tune VHF Frequencies (COM RADIOS)

• Tune VOR and ILS Frequencies (NAV RADIOS) in STBY RAD NAV mode

• Enter the Squawk (SQWK) code and squawk IDENT

• Adjust volume for voice communication or NAVAID identification

TUNING COM RADIOS (VHF PAGE)

The VHF page is used for tuning the active and standby VHF1/2/3 frequencies which control the sim's COM1/2/3 radios respectively.

• Access: Press the (1) VHF shortcut key to reach this page.

• Display Layout: Active frequencies are on the Left; Standby frequencies are on the Right.

• Status Indicators (5):

  • (A) Receive: Indicated by a Megaphone icon.

  • (B) Transmit: Indicated by a Green highlight.
    

• Controls:

  • (6) VHF1 Transmit, Receive and Volume

  • (7) VHF2 Transmit, Receive and Volume

  • (8) VHF3 Transmit, Receive and Volume

Dialling a Standby Frequency

1. Press the desired (2) RSK.

2. When the digits appear blue inside a blue box, type the frequency using the (4) Keypad.

Swapping Active / Standby Frequencies

• push the Transmit button (green when active) and pull the Receive knob (blue when active) for the desired radio:

• Push button to Transmit (Green when active)

• Pull knob to Receive (Blue when active)

• Turn knob to Adjust Volume

• Available on: (6) VHF 1, (7) VHF 2, (8) VHF 3

Quote

Note: When using default or BeyondATC, the Receive knobs can be scrolled clockwise/anti-clockwise to control their respective radio's volume. This does not work for online ATC network clients audio.

TUNING STBY NAV RADIOS (NAV PAGE)

Normally, the NAV frequencies (LS,VOR, ADF) are managed automatically via the MFD FMS (NAVAID page).

For manual tuning via the RMP

1. Access Standby Nav: Press (1) NAV → select (5) STBY RAD NAV.

2. Select System: Press the corresponding (3) RSK for LS or VOR.

3. Enter Frequency: Press (2) LSK and type the frequency using the (4) Keyboard.

   • Optional (VOR only): Press (3) RSK to enter the Course (CRS).

For listening to NAVAID Audio

1. Rotate the (6) NAVAID selector knob to your desired aid (ADF 1/2, LS, VOR 1/2, MKR).

2. Pull the reception knob to listen (turns blue when active).

CHANGING TRANSPONDER CODE / SQUAWKING IDENT (SQWK PAGE)

The SQWK page is used for changing the active transponder code (SQWK) and to squawk IDENT when requested by ATC. Press the (1) SQWK key to reach this page.

Changing the Squawk Code

1. Enter the new code using the (2) Keypad.

2. Digits inside a blue box indicate an active edit; they turn green once confirmed.

   Tip: To re-enter a code, switch pages (e.g., to VHF) and return to SQWK.

Squawking IDENT

• Press the (3) LSK3 to transmit.

• The screen will display TRANSMITTING IDENT to confirm.
