The Synaptic A220 Navigation Display (ND) supports a highly detailed terrain map overlay that accurately simulates the various rendering behaviours of the real unit. This relies on data injection from a separate map-server app running alongside the sim.

Note: PC only—console sandbox restrictions prevent running external apps.

App Installation

Follow the instructions at https://docs.synapticsim.com/pilots/map-server to install the map server.

Enabling Terrain Overlay on ND

Via Dropdown

  1. Select the OVLY dropdown on the ND

  2. Tick the TERRAIN checkbox

Via TERR Button

  1. Ensure MAP is displayed on atleast one INBD Display.

  2. Press the TERR button on the glareshield on either side of the cockpit.
