June 15Jun 15 Hi.In the past few days my INS when aligning from cold and dark shows up off the coast of Africa, regardless of what airport I spawn to and put the coordinates in for. I have caried out well over 30 flights since buying the Tristar and It has been absolutely fine up till now. When I spawn on to the runway with engines running, it is fine and places the pink dot at the airport I am flying from. Any ideas? The picture shows the screen prior to putting in coordinates of stand. Using the +/- makes no difference. Edited June 15Jun 15 by Austerflyer
June 16Jun 16 This happened to me last night also, even after the align 'timer' is near zero. Eventually somehow it auto resolved and I was able to start my flight. I have align time to fast. If I see it again, I'll try to see what steps to reproduce.
June 16Jun 16 Should start just off coast of east Africa because that's zero latitude and zero longitude before aligning.

You can then re-center the map to your actual position by clicking the aircraft icon.On 6/15/2026 at 2:45 PM, Austerflyer said:When I spawn on to the runway with engines running, it is fine and places the pink dot at the airport I am flying from.Because when you spawn on the runway, it automatically aligns the INS to your present position. The map in the center is an INS DISPLAY MAP, its driven by coordinates from INS1, 2 or 3 respectively. Its not a GPS map that is always aware of your position. So when you spawn at a gate, cold and dark, it places the purple dot at 0,0 as it has no known position until the alignment and initialization process is completed as per above.
