Yesterday at 07:59 PM1 day TriStar version 1.0.4MSFS Update 5 version 1.7.27.0Mode: INS + GPSIs there any trick to getting past the "OK?" blinking prompt on the Garmin 530? I started by trying the ENT button then all other buttons on the unit (including the big push buttons). Tried with various power sources--ground, APU and all engines on. Plus, double checked that all bus ties were connected (w/ all engines running). Ensured the master radio buttons were turned on. Tried after INS was fully aligned and in NAV. And tried unmapping the Avionics Master key binding which was set. Edited yesterday at 08:20 PM1 day by dragon8
Yesterday at 08:20 PM1 day Author UPDATE: Workaround: I restarted the simulator, powered up the aircraft (battery + ground power), waited for the GPS to boot up and the ENT button on the GPS worked as expected to get past the "OK?" prompt. Restarting the flight would be worth a shot if anyone else runs into this. Key here is to make sure the GPS is fully on before performing a bunch of other steps then realizing you can't interact with it. Will incorporate this in my startup procedure.Might be worth suggesting in the following topichttps://forum.inibuilds.com/topic/35983-how-to-gps-navigation-ins-gps/ Edited yesterday at 08:31 PM1 day by dragon8
7 hours ago7 hr Ive had this issue since day one. But what works for me is to cycle the power whether it be APU or Ground power. I havent needed to restart the sim.
2 hours ago2 hr Solution The GNS530 getting stuck on initialisation is a sim bug as far as we can tell. It's all WT code and we're not doing much our side with it besides giving it power (without which the display wouldn't turn on at all).If you do get stuck in this situation, you can as Jake suggested, try to recycle power (Trip the APU GEN or disconnect EXT Power) as that usually resets it. Alternatively you can try to restart your flight though that is rarely necessary. This issue is reported on other aircraft using WT GNS as well and we're hopeful it will be resolved eventually.
