flyalongswithdan Posted Monday at 12:52 PM Posted Monday at 12:52 PM (edited) I'm not one to complain but I am so sick of this plane I spent a lot of money on that I'm at my wit's end. Fresh install blabla.. updated.. poweful system... everything done right. Just can't fly with pleasure at all... always waiting for the next WASM orange screen crash during FMS rout planning, autopilot to be on at start-up, gear bay doors hanging open even though it was a 'fix' in 1.1.9, and other stuff which randomly happens... And then this take-off nonsense which never ever happens with PMDG or anything else. This was the second time... third time was just along the taxiway with an outside view. Totally ruins my day time and time again. Absolutely joyless after 20 mins setting up a nice flight to record. Edited Monday at 05:46 PM by flyalongswithdan
IniSteve Posted Monday at 03:29 PM Posted Monday at 03:29 PM You have auto assistances enabled. Turn all of them off and then see if this behaviour continues.
flyalongswithdan Posted Monday at 04:35 PM Author Posted Monday at 04:35 PM (edited) Good try but everything is off. Just verified. I've been on sims for over 20 years and real-world. Never had a plane bounce like this and spent a good week or so setting up with my new gaming computer. This is fs2024 SU4 btw. Just done a test flight after having shut the whole comp down for some hours. Same thing happened first take off. Video. I zoomed in to the undercarriage. You can see how it sticks and then suddenly pops off and up. No elevator control possible. ( and it's not pilot induced osscilation... all that movement is once I pitch up to 12.5 degrees - I'm literally not doing anything). And now to add to my woes, I restarted it and don't have a nose gear! What even is this plane?? Appreciate the response. Will do... Edited Monday at 05:02 PM by flyalongswithdan video and pic update
IniSteve Posted Monday at 04:57 PM Posted Monday at 04:57 PM We aren't seeing this widespread and aren't able to reproduce this in testing. Despite that something is amiss as you can see. Ruling out assist my next suspicion is you have a conflicting addon that is commanding this sudden pull up. Can you remove all add-ons from the community folder (You can simply rename the current folder to "_community" and the sim will generate a new one on launch) then install the A350 in the fresh folder. Afterwards, try to replicate this and see if it continues. Can you also send an autosave if possible and furnish your flight route and OFP
flyalongswithdan Posted Monday at 05:28 PM Author Posted Monday at 05:28 PM Honestly... I did what you said. Uninstalled the 350. Renamed Community folder. Restarted sim for new folder. Verified. Reinstalled 350 for msfs2024. Verified only add-on in folder. Tried with BA livery. Aircraft started with infamous lack of details on all screens, just random numbers. Ended flight. Loaded a Cathay Pacific one. Same dispaly issue. Thus, aircraft unusable before I can even test. The gods clearly don't want me to have this aircraft. 😞
IniSteve Posted Monday at 05:34 PM Posted Monday at 05:34 PM Deep breath... We can get through this. The display issue is a byproduct of a change in SU4 memory handling which we are actively working to rectify (it's causing us the most frustration) Are you on our community discord? It may be easier to provide live support there if so. 1
flyalongswithdan Posted Monday at 05:44 PM Author Posted Monday at 05:44 PM I restarted the flight a few times and eventually they loaded correctly on the CPA 350... Did a quick setup.. jumped outside 5kts before rotate... same thing for your viewing pleasure: Appreciate you're working on the issues. It was working the last 2 weeks in this regard. Done about 20 flights and all went well (apart from the wasm crash screens in the last few days). This started today and I haven't changed anything. Happens at different airports too. Testing has been, ironically, at Tolouse! 😄 Not on Discord. Never used it. Woulddn't mind getting set up but don't want to be too much of a disturbance.
IniSteve Posted Monday at 07:23 PM Posted Monday at 07:23 PM Here is video of my takeoff after a rwy spawn with no data input. After takeoff, you can even see where I release the stick and the nose settles again as the trim hasn't quite caught up with the aircraft. What jumps out to me in your vids is the FMA is indicating a VSI of +10000. Not sure where the aircraft is getting the pitch up command from. Are you certain every single assist is off in the menus? 350 Rotation.mp4
flyalongswithdan Posted Monday at 07:58 PM Author Posted Monday at 07:58 PM Thanks for your response and video effort. If you notice in my first video, at that sudden thump sound at 4 seconds, I lose all pitch control so the VSI indications are not me. If anything, I push forward 100% but even turning does nothing so there's some complete disconnect. In other exterior videos, you can see briefly the elevator at full deflection. This is not my input at all. The aircraft is also trimmed - which is an interesting point too.. I checked again, same thing. I just can't fly it at all now with any livery. I promise my entire assistance page is off and the turbulence one is at low (as advised elsewhere online). Again, I was flying this fine for the last few weeks - this suddenly all happened today 😞 I also have a new bug: my keyboard becomes absolutely dead when I load the plane. I can't even press ESC to get to the menu. The only thing that works is control alt delete to force close the sim! As you saw earlier, also the nose gear didn't load once. Today is a very, very weird day indeed! Thanks again so far.
IniSteve Posted Monday at 08:02 PM Posted Monday at 08:02 PM I am convinced something else in the sim is causing all these conflicts. While it's not the most elegant solution, you may consider a reinstall as a "nuclear option" to reset everything and then slowly add 3rd party content back in.
flyalongswithdan Posted Monday at 08:05 PM Author Posted Monday at 08:05 PM I've been thinking that too. Well I don't have much extra stuff added so it wouldn't be too bad. I guess I'll do that. Cheers for now! 1
Swisspilot1986 Posted Monday at 08:23 PM Posted Monday at 08:23 PM you maybe simply have 2 controllers e.g a sidestick and a yoke that are simultaneously connected and are in conflict.
flyalongswithdan Posted Monday at 09:00 PM Author Posted Monday at 09:00 PM Thanks but just the one same one that was working the past fortnight! Feel free to follow my spiral into insanity on my discord posts!
flyalongswithdan Posted Monday at 09:17 PM Author Posted Monday at 09:17 PM Fixed! I went to controller settings and primary flight surfaces. I selected pitch up and down and let it detect the correct axis as I moved it. I did the same for roll. Saved. This fixes it! So it seems the bug is that these settings get deleted somehow. Hope this helps someone else! 1
IniSteve Posted Tuesday at 12:04 AM Posted Tuesday at 12:04 AM Great to hear! I will lock the post but leave it up for others in case it happens again. 1
