theoldtannery Posted December 4, 2025 Posted December 4, 2025 Have just done a flight from EGHI to EGSS using BeyondATC. All went well but when I landed I was allocated a parking ramp of 601. This does not exist on any charts from Lido or Navigraph. Initially I thought BATC was probably at fault but then I returned to the world map and zoomed in to the airport and sure enough that stand is shown as available which is why BATC was able to choose it. I have also seen this on another airport from a different supplier. Can anyone confirm whether the stand is right as shown in MSFS 2024 and that the charts are out of date for things like parking stands or if EGSS is wrong in showing them.
Staff richboy2307 Posted 20 hours ago Staff Posted 20 hours ago Hi, Apologies for delay in response. This is just an instance of "sim-ism" for lack of a better word, where you have to get creative in order to enable an experience. You’re right that, according to the charts, there’s no Gate 601. But in the sim, you’ll see that this parking is on a GA Hangar where there aren’t any charted or numbered parking spots IRL. Since the sim still requires all spawn points to be numbered, we have to assign one even when there isn’t an official number. We can’t really exclude gates from sim ATC or BATC assignment either - If a gate exists, it’s usually used by injectors or ATC programmes. In your case, I’d suggest requesting BATC for a gate change to one that’s charted and more familiar to you. Thanks!
