please could someone help answer these

1. When inputting a SID or a STAR, sometimes waypoints get doubled up...e.g. BENDO, APPLE, ARBEY, TUNKA, ML, ARBEY, TUNKA, MLRWY16......In the MCDU, what is the proper way to delete the three underlined wpts?  I can delete one at a time plus any discontinuities, but that's inefficient.....

2. In CRZ, the speed is shown in green (e.g. Mach .85).  If I want/need to change this to say .80, how do I do it?  A speed/alt in BLUE can be done, but what about green?

thanks to anyone who can help

Blue means armed, Green means engaged. It shows as green because thats what engaged eg green .78 because you are flying at .78, right? So, when you change alt or speed, it goes blue to symbolise armed. Then you need to push forward on speed in 350 to engage it and it will shortly turn Green upon reaching that speed. Same reason why NAV shows blue before engaging- it’s armed, not engaged!

Hi Jack.  No, different problem I think.  When already in CRZ the FMS shows a green speed/mach number.  e.g. Managed speed is, say .80.  I want to CRZ at .84, but as it is in green, I can't change it to the higher mach number.  It won't let me.  If I 'use 'select' mode on the FCU, I can CRZ faster, but if I then revert to 'managed' mode, the speed reverts to the green speed as shown in the FMS.  BUT, I'll look at this again tonight.....perhaps when I select the FCU speed, the FMS DOES go blue....this I will check  ....apprec your comment

Jack...tried again. With Speed, there does not seem a way to change 'Managed' Speed in the FMS at all.  Looks like you have to go to 'Selected' mode only and stay in it to achieve a desired speed/mach.

Also with CRZ level, I can try selecting a different FL in the FMS, (which IS blue), but it reverts to the flight plan level each time.  So again, it seems you have to use 'Selected' mode to achieve a different level.

Ahhh, sorry for the confusion. Yes that  makes sense. In managed AP modes, the AP manages the speed it believes is best for this flight. You can of course, select it to override that input but the idea is it isn’t necessary if you want the AP to do all the work for you. So, your answer is you cannot change managed speed, as it is (attempted) to be managed by AP, however you can always use selected speed to fit your desired flight time (up to a point of course)

cheers

Jack
