Rain wiper mask

Dear team,

Many thanks for 1.04 update, I have just found issue with the wipers:

1. wipers working perfectly w/o battery - I assume its not real
2.rain drops are visible from outside only (wipers wiping perfectly, but from outside only)

Yes it's a bug before you could see the drops now with the latest update you can't anymore...

This was removed in the update due to undesired effects on the interior glass reflections amongst other issues. We planned to include fully working wiper effect in 1.0.4 but this wasn't possible.

On Monday we had a breakthrough which made the wiping effect work as we wanted it to, and we found a way around some nasty reflection side effects that came with it. We have been investigating this issue in 2024 since before release of the A350 so we are happy that we have finally solved it to work the way we want it to.

It's gone into testing now, and if all is well for our testers, we will include it in 1.0.5.

How nice with the latest update finally now when it rains the windshield wipers work! ... great job guys but obviously there is still a little more work to do because I noticed that with heavy rain the drops at the front go up instead of going down (side windows not) and as I have already reported the noise of the rain hitting the inside of the cabin is not there (for already heavy rain or at least I don't hear it..) I am already happy with what you are demonstrating in the updates, slowly you will improve more and more 🤩... last thing ... if over time (I know there are more important fixes) you manage, based on the intensity of the rain, to improve the speed of cleaning the rain ... because currently if you set slow or if you set fast the rain is removed in the same way ... that is in reality if it rains heavily with slow the glass should not be cleaned. ... thanks anyway for this update! ...

Very happy to hear this is working well!

I have passed your feedback onto the sounds team and ensured that it is logged!

We anticipate to have cabin window rain effects also for the next update if all goes well.

As it's the only possible implementation of the default wiper mask system currently, cannot be simulated, I'm afraid.

You may notice some bugs, especially in the corners of the glass, when the aircraft moves regarding the direction of the rain. From our technical understanding, this happens because the A350’s windows have slight curvature, unlike the much more flat windows on aircraft like the default 737 MAX or our A300 where this behaviour is not seen.

So from our findings, we have no control over this directional issue, but we have reported it to the relevant people and are looking into possible fixes or clarifications for future updates.
