Christos Chatzimanolis Posted March 5 Posted March 5 Hi! I bought the a350 as soon as it came out and I truly love it, so props to the team for making it possible! Although my experience is 90% positive, I have some issues regarding long haul flights, the thing that this aircraft is designed to do. So, let's talk about ETOPS. In most of the long haul flights we have and should use ETOPS in case of emergencies. With that being said, at the time of writing this, the maximum radius around a waypoint, in this case an ETOPS waypoint, is set at 256 NM. Clearly this is not right, and as an ETOPS 370 rated aircraft, this should change and make it -2500 NM for both the -1000 and the -900. Other than that I haven't encountered any other issues, but I'm testing it daily. Hope to see this change in the next patch so it can improve the already great experience with the product! Thanks!
Lennart320 Posted Monday at 01:45 PM Posted Monday at 01:45 PM Apparently it is right. Most real life pilots apparently do not use rings around their points but just use the fix page to enter the coordinates/Waypoints to be displayed which is obviously sufficient
Swisspilot1986 Posted Monday at 01:54 PM Posted Monday at 01:54 PM Is this limit of 256 nm not solved since the last update?
ALFRED Posted Monday at 04:17 PM Posted Monday at 04:17 PM I'm OK if practice could be different in A350 vs 773 So, could a certified person write some official words on "how to really deal with ETOPS in A350" => use fix info ( for entrys and exits? use SEC 1 ?, use ETP page ? use all of that mess ?thx by advance ; i'll be actually glad to try that once wasm issues resolved (now i've stuck for 100% trying flights 😞
