Announcing the iniBuilds Spartan 7W Executive Aircraft for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 & 2024! ✈️

Introducing the iniBuilds Spartan 7W, the latest addition to our Premier Aircraft series! Whilst not a strictly new announcement, this project was paused for a while and following the success of the iniBuilds T-33 Jet Trainer Premier aircraft, we thought to re-introduce this one as a formal project.

If you want to know more about the iniBuilds Premier Aircraft series or the T-33 please read this development update here - Latest T-33 Update

Step back in time to an era within aviation of elegance and performance with the iconic Spartan 7W Executive. Developed with invaluable insights from Jim Savage, a proud owner and operator of Spartan Executive S/N 17, this release brings to life one of the most exclusive aircraft of the pre-war golden age.

7WBranded_1.png

The Spartan 7W, known for its luxurious design and robust performance, was produced between 1937 and 1941, with only 34 ever built. This beautifully crafted aircraft was designed to offer both speed and comfort, targeting wealthy businessmen and corporations who wanted a flying machine as stylish as it was capable. Of those 34 original models, 20 have survived the test of time, with a number still gracing the skies in both Europe and the USA.
7WBranded_4.png

Today, fewer than half of the surviving Spartans are airworthy, with the remaining resting in museums, undergoing repairs, or in long-term storage. Each aircraft is a living testament to the craftsmanship of the Spartan Aircraft Company, with its sleek, streamlined fuselage, powerful radial engine, and luxurious interiors, making it one of the most sought-after executive aircraft of its time.
7WBranded_5.png

Jim Savage, who has been the caretaker of his award-winning Spartan Executive NC 17634 for nearly 18 years, has poured years of passion into preserving the legacy of these remarkable machines. His personal Spartan has a rich history, featuring in aviation magazines and major aviation events, and is a part of his larger effort to keep the Spartan legacy alive through his website, VintageSpartanAircraft.com.

Bringing this aircraft to the virtual skies, our team, along with Jim’s expert guidance, has recreated the Spartan 7W in stunning detail, offering enthusiasts the chance to experience its elegance, power, and historical significance. Every rivet, every curve of the fuselage, and the intricate systems have been faithfully modeled to capture the essence of flying this vintage masterpiece.

This aircraft will be packed full of features both authentic to Jim's version, multiple cockpit variants and some cool modern, luxurious cabins to bring a 2024 luxurious experience to this 1930's aircraft - a fusion between old and new! Of course, you can customise your simming experience as you wish with the iniBuilds EFB to the configuration you wish to fly! ✈️

More news on this aircraft will come in the new year with a planned release in Jan/Feb 2025 for both Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024!

iniBuilds A350 Airliner for Microsoft Flight Simulator 🛫

What a year its been! iniBuilds has been tremendously busy this year and a lot of work has gone into the iniBuilds A350 Airliner to truly define it as the ultimate airliner experience! ❤️‍🔥

In the iniBuilds Summer Surprises Development Update ☀️ we showcased features such as highly detailed 3D modelling, including dynamic weathering that reflects wear over time and a meticulously crafted cockpit with lifelike PBR textures. The update showcased maintenance features like openable engine cowlings managed through the Electronic Flight Bag (EFB). We highly recommend you read that development update before reading this one! You can read this here.

Since then work has been full steam ahead and today we have the iniBuilds A350 Airliner Trailer to showcase what the team have been up to!

WATCH THE TRAILER!

As you can see from the trailer the plane is absolutely stunning and will be very much feature rich and we have listed a few of them here:

  • 🛋️Detailed 3D Cabins with Cabin Announcement System
  • 👩‍✈️Comprehensive Flight Attendant Panel
  • 🌍Custom Terrain Radar
  • 🛠️Extremely detailed system simulations & options
  • 🗺️Navigraph Integration & SimBrief Import
  • 📊iniBuilds Situation Manager
  • 📐ABEAM & Offset Simulation
  • 🧰Complex Maintenance Simulation
  • 🎨Intricate & technical 3D model & textures
  • 📡GPS Jamming
  • 🛫Fully integrated ANF - Airport Navigation Function
  • 🚨Numerous failures & emergency situations modelled along with deep ECAM simulation
  • 🛑BTV (Brake-to-Vacate)
  • 🌬️Structural vibrations modelled such as elevator flutter

There is a lot to unpack and whilst we won't cover a lot of those today we want to highlight some of the cool things you will find within the aircraft and what the team have been doing.

The team have worked incredibly hard to ensure the level of systems and options available to you as a customer are top tier. 💯

The iniBuilds A350 electrical and system simulations showcase a remarkable level of detail and realism:

  • Electrical Bus Simulation: Over 80 electrical buses are accurately modeled, replicating the real A350's behavior. For instance, pressing BAT 1 powers minimal components, but activating BAT 1 EMER or BAT 2 EMER progressively powers more systems. Even subtle details like partial dome light activation based on the specific buses are faithfully represented.
  • 🪫Dynamic Load Computation: The system calculates real electrical loads dynamically. This can be demonstrated by showing the AC page, then turning off the GALLEY or COMMERCIAL switches, resulting in visibly reduced load readings.
  • 🔋Battery Options: The simulation includes both NiCad and Lithium battery options, with differing capacities. Swapping to Lithium batteries via the EFB reflects the 45 amp-hour capacity on the DC page, where the charging process is displayed in real-time. The changes also extend to 3D art changes on the aircraft, and this level of detail will be available throughout many of the options available to you.
  • 🔉Noise-Optimized N1 Settings: The aircraft allows configuration of a specific N1 for low-noise areas (e.g., 85% N1). When climbing, this setting changes the FMA to indicate "THR NOISE 80% N1," and upon reaching the target altitude, it transitions back to "THR CLB*."

These features not only enhance immersion but also showcase the technical depth of the iniBuilds A350 simulation.

image.png

There are of course, features such as the Custom Terrain Radar, Airport Navigation Function (ANF) and Brake-to-Vacate (BTV) that are more unique to the A350 and can be seen in the trailer. The latter two are fully modelled by comparison to other interpretations seen elsewhere in the sim.

During the course of the next few weeks we will be commencing our usual iniBuilds Aircraft showcase series when releasing a new aircraft, walking you through some of these features.

Now we know for sure all of you are excited but take note of some key information below for questions you may have...

image.png

1. Based on overwhelming customer feedback, we have re-evaluated our decision and will be releasing the iniBuilds A350 Airliner for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024 in one purchase.

We will invest in two development cycles given people want more choice, and note the issues some people have with FS2024 at the moment.

We will do our very best to have parity in feature sets between both versions of the aircraft, but please note this will not be possible all the way, and more details will be shared closer to release.

image.png

2. Yes, we know we promised a 2024 release date, but we also as mentioned previously, we want a fantastic product on launch. Having considered all of this, we have decided to delay the launch of the iniBuilds A350 Airliner for both sims to Q1 2025. This as mentioned will be one purchase, and whilst the trailer did not showcase the -1000 variant, both variants will be available Day 1. The ULR variant will be a free update later in the year.

If you do have any more questions be sure to join our Discord here and ask our team, and we will be sure to update our FAQ on this project here.
If you haven't already done so we highly recommend to check it out as it may answer a question you may have!

Thank you for all your support this year, and we look forward to chatting to you all in 2025!
