Editer Posted November 30, 2024 Posted November 30, 2024 Hey team, Great job getting one of the first native FS2024 updates out! Was excited to grab the T-33. Alas, ran into an engine problem when flying: Thrust would drop down to about 25% and no movement of the throttle would bring it back. Messed around a big with the fuel tank switches s wondering if that's the issue, and eventually thrust came back. But it happened again twice in the flight. Over on the official forum, others report the same issue. See the posts from Jigsaw407: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/inibuilds-t-33-jet-trainer/649882/302 1
JPVann Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 Having same issue. No matter combination of fuel tanks, all tanks or just tip tanks - get off the ground and minutes into flight lose thrust and crash. Everytime. 1
IniSteve Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 Hi all. FS2024 has brought with it new and better engine and fuel management simulation which requires a more thought into how one operates their aircraft. For the T-33 ensure when you are advancing the throttle, it's being done in a slow and controlled manner. If you move it too quickly, the engine will surge and stall as per the real thing. 3
JPVann Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 (edited) Damn realism keeps getting in the way lol… Edited December 2, 2024 by JPVann 1 1
Editer Posted December 2, 2024 Author Posted December 2, 2024 Thanks, @IniSteve! Confirming it was pilot error! At first, even being more gentle with the throttle, I was still getting stalls. Then I realized I had started the flight with the hardware throttle pushed forward to about 66% and then pulled it back rapidly, which to the sim looked like a quick shove forward at start and then fast reduction. So next flight, I pulled the throttle all the way back before clicking Fly, and then upon starting the flight, held the brakes and slowly and steadily advanced the throttle to full. Everything worked great! Engine stayed up, no stalls, flew a perfectly normal flight. Well, until landing, when I realized I’d come in way too fast and bounced, so I instinctively slammed the throttle forward as I raised my gear to go around. And that stalled my engine. But that was pilot error and not a problem with the plane! RIP me. 1
F0R2 Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 Hello, I recently downloaded the T-33 for msfs 2024 on Xbox and I have run into a similar, yet slightly different issue. No matter how slowly I advance the throttle, I cannot get above ~65% RPM. If I am flying fast and near sea level I can get another ~15% RPM, but usually I can’t even reach the recommended 65% for warm up on the ground. I have seen videos where others are able to easily reach full throttle on takeoff at altitude, but at around 5000 feet, the engine will stall above about 45% throttle. Like I said, I am advancing the throttle VERY slowly(when reaching an RPM where I suspect the engine is about to stall, I have tried advancing the throttle by ~1% every few seconds and it stalls without fail). Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug? This issue prevents me from reaching speeds above 280kts at sea level and 220kts above 5-6k feet with exceptionally long takeoffs.
Editer Posted December 25, 2024 Author Posted December 25, 2024 I didn’t buy the T 33 from marketplace because I’m on PC, but as I understand it, they have not pushed the latest update that fixes the FS 2024 issues to marketplace yet. I think it may be because the delay in launching FS 2024 marketplace means that Microsoft might not be publishing native 2024 updates yet.

I just couldn’t find anyone else talking about the issue.
Alan_A Posted December 27, 2024 Posted December 27, 2024 Just tried the T-33 for the first time in MSFS 2024 and you can add me to the list of people experiencing engine issues. Engine reaches 75% RPM, then throttles back no matter how slowly I advance the throttles. It feels like a hard-coded limit. I'm wondering if I have the right version installed. Is there a way in the files to determine the version number? FYI that I bought directly from iniBuilds and I download through the app - so Marketplace issues shouldn't be a factor. Thanks in advance for your help.
Editer Posted December 27, 2024 Author Posted December 27, 2024 (edited) Go to the iniManager app and download the FS2024-specific version. Engine works fine on that one if you treat it gently. Edited December 27, 2024 by Editer
Alan_A Posted December 27, 2024 Posted December 27, 2024 (edited) Thanks, thought I had done that. But where does it install? It didn’t show up in the aircraft list until I hand-copied the folder from MSFS 2020 into the MSFS 2024 Community folder. It’s entirely possible I grabbed the wrong one. If I’m installing directly to 2024 via the app, where in the file structure does the aircraft wind up? Edited December 27, 2024 by Alan_A

Make sure you're using the latest version of the iniManager (v2.4.2). You can grab the installer from here and run it to manually update the app: https://inibuilds.com/pages/inimanager-v2 The latest version adds support for MSFS2024 by allowing you to define your MSFS2024 Community folder in the settings (top left corner, click your name to access). Press the 'Scan Now' button to populate the field automatically. Alternatively, you may use the '...' button to define this path manually. FS24 Default Community Folder Paths Quote Steam: %APPDATA%\Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024\Packages\CommunityMS Store: %LOCALAPPDATA%\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Community All addons installed via the iniManager are placed into these defined paths for MSFS 2024 and 2020 respectively. As long as this Community folder is recognized by your sim, the addons here should show up in your aircraft selection window. On the T-33 Product page, you will see 2 separate Install buttons for MSFS 2024 and 2020. They will each have their own Uninstall and Update buttons respectively. Alan_A Posted December 27, 2024 Posted December 27, 2024 Thanks, @richboy2307! I didn’t see those path dialogues, so clearly my mistake was not updating the app. Will take care of that tomorrow afternoon and report back. Appreciate the guidance! 1
Alan_A Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 Got it worked out - turns out I already had the latest version of the app, but in all the confusion of setting up MSFS 2024, I forgot I had to insert the new community folder pathway. Correct version is now installed and I was able to take it on a short local flight. Flight model seems a lot more refined and sold, with more mass and inertia, and the airplane handles better - more stable throughout, especially in pitch except at approach speeds, and doesn't need nearly as much trimming. Now time to figure out the MSFS 2024 settings and see if I can cure the stutterfest... long way to go, but the T-33 helps. Thanks for getting me pointed in the right direction...! 2
