More airlines/liveries

Featured Replies

Hi,

Due to the nature of the encrypted/locked files Microsoft have shipped, it is not possible to access the base files and make liveries off of them. There are requests for paintkits/access on the MS forums. Until they get addressed, I have no answer to your question. Hopefully sooner than later we'll see liveries start popping up once/if file access is granted.

Thank you

Since in MSFS2024 almost all content is streamed, is there a reason why not to integrate all liveries directly into the main game content instead of having to download them separately on this Forums or via iniBuilds launcher?

So on the discord there were screenshots of other liveries.

iniManager now has a community path setting for MSFS 2024. Add that setting then you can install the liveries.

You can find more liveries and install them from iniManager under Liveries -> A330-2/300/P2F[GE][RR]

Because iniBuild's liveries that are on the iniManager are not necessarily done by iniBuilds staff nor have approval from Asobo or the airlines they are representing.

Is this a pure inibuilds issue or will this policy of Microsoft also impact third party products? If so that would take out the single most important aspect of Msfs for pc users (the extensive modding community).

Hi,

From what I understand, this impacts all content that is locked within the simulator including standard, deluxe and premium content. So nothing third party as that will be installed locally unless the developer chooses to use the streaming functionality as well (not sure how that will work if the product is sold on a third party marketplace). Microsoft has already made a statement regarding this issue and are working towards something that will make the community happy.

Thank you

Thank you! For the customer there is literally no upside and honestly it gives the impression that mods were the specific target…

Will INI create more liveries?  Normally you’d have a few dozen out pretty quickly.

Not sure if I believe the reasons given as there are multiple repaints of default aircraft including the A330 on 3rd party sites.

What are you referring to? The community has found work-arounds on how to create repaints for any default aircraft. What is it you don't believe? I'll link the guide that's circulating the community here.

@Eddie so even if I want to paint our VA liveries for private use by our pilots, I cant do that? Thats just plain non-sensical. Why would MS want to stop that from happening? I can understand if they want to vet repaints which will be sold or incorporated with their product but private use?

This is not really an issue with third party devs but more towards MS/Asobo's policy on encryption and file structure that prevents proper paintkit sharing.
