A300 is "on the roll" - Nothing can stop it rolling

Featured Replies

Heya, just noticed this today, when spawning on some uneven terrain.

Chocks and parking brakes do absolutely nothing and the aircraft just rolls down the small decline. Every other plane manages, so I'd assume its the a300?

Hi there,

Would you mind grabbing us a video of this in action? Would be very much appreciated. Uploading it to Google Drive / YouTube as unlisted works just fine. Alternatively where have you tried loading in so I can try reproducing.

Thank you

To replicate, just give yourself a slight push with a bit of wind, or be on a slope - this should cause it to roll

MSFS addon companies never fail to just leave the product as is... Does ini not have a QA or Bugfix team? Or is it just general practice of all msfs addon developers to be proud of broken and unoptimized content?

Hi,

Apologies for not getting back to you. Been a very very busy month for us and all we ask is for your understanding. I've tried reproducing the issue and haven't come to the same conclusion. The chocks won't engage in your instance due to the aircraft already being in motion, which is obviously a problem. Either way, the team has been made aware despite not being able to reproduce and will be addressed in a future update.

Again, apologies for the very delayed followup. Thank you

The chocks are engaged in the second video, and have been as well before taking motion. I have discovered that this issue is also hidden in the bug report before me, which I didn't see until recently.

EDIT: Also that the parking brake and brake does not change anything in regards to the behaviour, with or without APU, has to be some indication that it just doesn't work...

Hello,

Yeah there's definitely something not right here. I have, like mentioned, tried what you mentioned but it seems something is making the simulator ignore the chock logic entirely. Have you tried using the A300 in an empty community folder to rule out any potential conflicts?

Thank you

I ran into this issue today when trying to add a layer of snow. Parking brakes and chocks did not stop the aircraft from rolling. I tried starting the aircraft from the "ready for takeoff" state, taxiing into the parking spot, and stopping. At this point the aircraft did stay in place, but after switching back to cold and dark, the aircraft would start sliding again after a few moments.

I just encountered this issue with the A300-600RF PW (IniBuilds FedEx livery) in MSFS 2020 at KSYR (w/ the SierraSim KSYR scenery). Parked at FedEx ramp 1, which is a naturally downward sloping spot where the aircraft will naturally roll when neither chocks or brakes are set.  However, when starting a new flight from cold & dark with both chocks and brakes set, the aircraft slowing begins to roll forward until it rolls about halfway into the building.  I have not found a way to stop it.  This seems to only happen in combination with GSX.  If I deactivate GSX the problem does not occur.
