I tried both TA and TA/RA knob without success, but apparently there are two more that need to be set. One titled STBY-AUTO-ON and the other OFF-ON. This Airbus is a different beast than the 737. 🙂

There's usually only the STBY-AUTO-ON and STBY-TA-TA/RA. TCAS still works with it OFF, displaying traffic and TA/RA mode on the ND, so one way or another something is wrong.

I've never noticed it because it's already in the ON position.
