Hi everyone,

I figured that the switch for TCAS STBY/TA-RA/TA sets the transponder state to ALT. Usually this should be done by the ALT 1/2 switch. This is obviously a bug which should be fixed, especially when online flying you have to set the TCAS mode to TA/RA that your XPNDR ALT status is read. The TCAS usually does have nothing to do with the ALT readout from the XPNDR. Or am I wrong?

I am flying online right now with VATSIM coverage.  The controllers are not saying anything (and they would) about what they are seeing on their end.  My transponder is set to TA/RA.  I am showing Mode C in teh Vpilot app.  No issues.  I will take a look at the FCOM to see if I can decipher the rest. 

All true but when you switch to any other mode than TA/RA the Alt Transmission for the XPNDR is gone/off. What I am trying to say is that setting the TCAS range should NOT turn the transponder mode (mode C - that should be done with XPNDR settings NOT TCAS)…

If you fly online and use the respective client for IVAO or VATSIM, just switch the TCAS to STBY or TA/RA and you probably will see that the transponder mode C will turn on and off. I am flying with IVAO and with the "altitude" pilot client you will see that the transponder will go on STBY when switchin the TCAS NOT to TA/RA

Ok, I rechecked with the new update and A300-600 transponder panel reference. Sorry, was my bad! The switch function looks ok. When switched to TA/RA and TA it also sets the transponder to ON mode. That is supposed to be correct!! Was not aware of this since in other aircraft TCAS does NOT toggle transponder modes...
