Paul K Posted March 25, 2023 Posted March 25, 2023 I'm really enjoying the Taifun, and thank you for the new auto-pilot addition - very handy indeed! I have a problem with the internal sound, however. In addition to what you would normally expect from a piston engine, there is a loud upper/mid-range hum. I don't know what it is supposed to replicate ( wind noise maybe ? ). It is so uncomfortable that I have to fly the aircraft with the sound turned right down, almost to the point where I can't hear it at all. Could iniBuilds have a look at this humming noise, and maybe reduce it ? Or, better still, remove it altogether so that I can hear the engine itself ? Thank you for your consideration.
Deleted Account Posted March 28, 2023 Posted March 28, 2023 Heya! I'm sorry, but I'm not quite sure what you mean by humming sound. We rechecked the live version and didnt hear any sounds that shouldn't be there. Could you somehow isolate the sound you mean by chance?
Paul K Posted March 31, 2023 Author Posted March 31, 2023 Hi Gumbyger, thanks for the response. It is difficult to describe a sound by words alone. The noise is a constant throbbing note, louder than all the other sounds that you would normally associate with a piston engine i.e. pistons' ignition, exhaust, propeller etc. It's there once the aircraft is at normal flying speed, but much quieter when on the ground. The nearest I can describe it is similar to the sound when riding on the London Underground! It seems to be louder in my right ear- if that's any help Sorry, I can not be more precise. If that is how the engine and aircraft sound in real life, then fair enough. But I find I have to keep the speaker volume at a low setting in order to tolerate it. Very uncomfortable, for me anyway.
Deleted Account Posted March 31, 2023 Posted March 31, 2023 Mmh, sorry to hear that 😞 But yeah, our developers looked over it again and they said the sound is as they would expect it. I don't think there will be any error in your sound set, but maybe try a reinstall just to make sure?
Paul K Posted March 31, 2023 Author Posted March 31, 2023 Yes, I'll try reinstalling it and see if that cures the problem. It seems I'm the only one who has the issue and if, as you say, the developers have checked it over, then there's not much that can be done. I'll let you know here if re-installing has any effect. Thanks again. 🙂 1
