The current OIS in the A350 follows an older layout. Recent A350 FCOM revisions (e.g. DSC-46-OIS, rev. 2017–2020) document the newer Flysmart interface by NAVBLUE (L6.x / L7.x) that many operators now use. Here is a structured proposal based on the FCOM descriptions. 1. OIS MENU (DSC-46-OIS-20-80-20) Two domains: AVNCS (with COMPANY COM) and EFB (opens the last-used EFB application) Top banner with a CLEAR button, an “x MSG” counter, the time, and the latest COMPANY COM message preview 2. Common EFB top bar (DSC-46-OIS-20-80-10) Application menu button (≡): a drop-down with the four categories MISSION / DOCUMENTATION / PERFORMANCE / UTILITIES Navigation bar: shows only the running applications, with arrows when they don’t all fit Message button: counts new notifications (pulses, then stays steady). It opens a message list with UNREAD / ALL tabs and MARK AS READ, plus a temporary pop-up when a notification arrives Aircraft registration button: opens FLT OPS STS, and shows “FLT OPS STS” if no registration is set 3. FLT OPS MENU (DSC-46-OIS-20-80-50) Large tiles grouped by MISSION (FLT FOLDER, charts…), DOCUMENTATION (OPS LIBRARY), PERFORMANCE (T.O PERF, LOADSHEET, LDG PERF, IN-FLT PERF), UTILITIES (LOAD BOX, EXPORT BOX) 4. FLT OPS STS (DSC-46-OIS-20-80-60) Aircraft type, registration, weight variant, flight number (auto-fills FROM/TO), FROM / TO SYNCHRO AVIONICS button (copies inputs from the FMS) CLEAR FLIGHT button (L7.x naming) to reset all EFB apps at the end of the flight and export the EXPORT BOX DONE button returns to the LOAD BOX or the previous application 5. Performance apps (T.O PERF / IN-FLT PERF / LDG PERF, DSC-46-OIS-20-80-90 to -110) Same structure for all three: Runway area, Conditions area with > selectors, Aircraft status (MEL / CDL / ECAM counters), Results area with a runway graphic (ASD, stop margin, wind sock, entry angle)T.O PERF: CLEAR / COMPUTE / XCHECK WITH AVNCS LDG PERF: IN FLIGHT / DISPATCH toggle, SYNCHRO ECAM, results such as LD, F-LD, factor, stop margin, VAPP, EO GA gradient/speed, and AUTOCONF (CONF 3 / FULL) LOADSHEET results (LW, LDG CG) passed automatically to LDG PERF 6. LOADSHEET, LOAD BOX, EXPORT BOX (DSC-46-OIS-20-80-120 to -140) LOADSHEET: Configuration/Loading area, MEL items, Results, LOAD BOX: table listing EFF / data loads with CAPT / F/O / SPARE status icons and LOAD / ABORT / REFRESH. A natural place for the SimBrief OFP import EXPORT BOX: T.O / LDG results, loadsheet and EFF with GND / USB destinations, SATCOM / GATELINK status, SENT / SENDING / POSTPONED status 7. OPS LIBRARY ECAM panel (DSC-46-OIS-20-80-70) Lists active ECAM alerts and dispatch messages, with links to the related procedure, MEL item or library search, plus SYNCHRO ECAM. A good fit for the failure system / Situation Manager 8. COMPANY COM (DSC-46-OIS-20-80-40),( linked to my Hoppie telex suggestion) Message management: inbox / outbox / sent folders, free-text messages to company ground stations, mailbox automatically cleared at the end of the flight OOOI reports sent automatically (doors closed, parking brake off, gear up/down…) Matching ECAM memos on the WD: COMPANY MSG, COMPANY ALERT (flashes for 180 s), CALL COMPANY

Current behaviour Incoming Hoppie telex messages (free-text company/station messages) are currently displayed on the MFD, in ATC COM > MSG RECORD, mixed with ATC-related traffic. Suggestion Since the OIS already has an AOC menu, it would be great to have an option to receive Hoppie telex messages there instead, keeping ATC COM on the MFD dedicated to CPDLC/ATC traffic. Nice-to-have The ability to reply to or compose a telex from the AOC page Message list with sender, time and read/unread status Why It would separate company communications from ATC communications, which feels more natural from an operational point of view It would make better use of the existing AOC page
